I have forty-four 5* reviews (https://tutorful.co.uk/tutors/mqwl5nb8). I also have 4 years experience as an AQA A-level Economics examiner. I am also a fully qualified teacher and have taught and tutored both children and adults since 2011. My specialisms are A-level Economics and Business Studies but I have also prepared candidates for Oxbridge entry.
I have tutored both the domestic and international exam boards for many years including: AQA, Edexcel, OCR, EDUQAS, WJEC, CIE, International Edexcel, IB, Pre-U and SEB.
I have tutored online for over 3000 hours and find that for Economics and Business Studies it is as good as in person, if not better, since it is much easier to send model paragraphs and diagrams. I endeavour to make sure my students feel as comfortable as possible and encourage them to ask questions because asking questions is the best way to learn. My sessions are always tailored to the students' individual requirements and are focused around the specific requirements of the exam. Parents often remark that their child is much more confident with the subject following sessions with me.
I have also written 195 questions for a Cambridge University Press iGCSE Economics Textbook.
I am a father of four and a fully qualified teacher turned full-time private tutor with Enhanced DBS Clearance. I am an enthusiastic tutor who has an excellent track record in helping students achieve, or exceed, their target grades. Finally, I have fibre broadband for an excellent online experience.

I have been an English Tutor for Foreign Language Students for almost four years now, but am looking to expand my expertise in tutoring to other students and languages. I am still very interested in teaching English langauge to Foreign Language Students, but would also like to share my Language skills and knowledge with other learners.
I studied French and Spanish as my undergraduate degree at the University of Exeter, where I graduated in 2023. This four-year degree has given me a great deal of confidence in both Languages, particualrly through having a Year Abroad where I worked as an English Teacher in a Secondary School and Professional College (teaching young adults). Alongside my degree, I consistently worked as an English Tutor and have built up my teaching style and resource bank for students. I am particularly proud of my students and what they have gone on to achieve - from developing their English language to allow them to build a life in England and flee from war-stricken areas, to nurtuting students to pass their TEFL qualifications and other various exams. I am a determined and (quite!) competitive individual, which I beleive rubs off onto students and encourages them to study and pass their GCSE's or A-level exams.
I have worked with children and young adults of all ages (from 4 years old to 22 years old) and have tutored adults in English Conversation Classes for nearly three years. I am therefore very adaptable when it comes to my students and their needs.
Last year, I passed my Postgraduate Diploma in Law (PgDL) with a Distinction, and I am happy to say that I am also available for tutoring in this disciplie. A three-year Law Undergraduate Degree in just nine months is a particular challenge, and I know that I would have appreciated some help and tutoring at points, so please do let me know if this is something that I can be of any help with.
I look forward to meeting you and please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any further questions! :)

I am a highly experienced teacher, performer, composer and arranger, living and working in beautiful East Devon. I love and play music of all kinds. Clarinet, Saxophone and Flute are my favourites, as nothing feels closer to the human voice.
After a first class BA in music and a PGCE that specialised in instrumental teaching, I have taught continuously in Devon schools and privately at home for over thirty years.
I offer relaxed lessons to all ages, primary to adult. I believe in an individual approach, following your interests, providing materials to suit, and sharing your love of music. As a performer, I have experience of classical, jazz, folk, pop, soul and rock, and I teach improvisation and ear skills alongside reading. I am fully familiar with the music curriculum and often support it in my lessons. I also offer a full external exam service where appropriate, using the Trinity College syllabus.
So If you're thinking about learning an instrument, or starting again after a break, don't delay.

I am an undergraduate Psychology student at the University of Exeter, with a strong academic background that includes completing the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma and the IGCSE curriculum. In the IB, I pursued English A at a Higher Level, which honed my critical thinking and analytical skills, and further developed my passion for literature and language. Before that, I completed my IGCSEs, where I am part of the English Literature course. I also have a distinction in Chinese, reflecting my proficiency in bilingual communication, furthermore, I also speak Cantonese (dialect) fluently and Japanese (at a conversational level).
My international background, including time spent in Hong Kong, has shaped me both academically and personally. While there, I volunteered as an English tutor at a children’s home, working closely with young learners to improve their English skills. This hands-on teaching experience not only developed my ability to communicate complex concepts in an accessible way but also fostered my passion for education and helping others.
As I progress in my Psychology studies, I aim to blend my understanding of human behaviour with my passion for language and education, pursuing opportunities that allow me to apply both fields meaningfully. My academic achievements and diverse experiences have given me a well-rounded perspective that I am eager to continue developing.

I have a range of experience from several roles I have held, but I'd love to give you a brief overview of my qualifications.
I finished my GCSEs in 2021 and achieved 9s in both English Language and Literature, and a Distinction in my English Language Speaking Exam. Writing essays is an aspect of my education that I have always found tiresome and dull, like most students, but it can become a stress-free aspect of GCSE and A-Level if you know what the examiner is looking for. This is what I will be trying to teach to my students.
For my A-Levels I attended Exeter College and studied English Literature, Classical Civilisations, and Philosophy. I also did an Extended Project Qualification. I was proud to achieve AAB with an A in EPQ when I graduated in 2023, and am excited to pass on the revision and essay-writing skills I learned during the two years I did my A-Levels.
I am currently volunteering as a Teaching Assistant at my local primary school. Through this role I have significantly developed my ability to teach KS1, KS2, and even KS3 children, as well as dyslexic children. I have learned to be kind and patient with them, while paying attention to what makes the child an individual. Since every child learns differently, I take time to figure out how best to tutor every child. Not only this, but I am being given expert advice from some of the best primary school teachers in the country, who I have the utmost respect for as most of them taught me when I attended the school.
From the ages of 17-18 I worked at Build-A-Bear Workshop in Exeter, so I developed my skills working with children of all ages.
Finally, I was lucky enough to be a shortlisted Oxford candidate for English Language and Literature last year, so I am happy to help with personal statement writing, interview prep, or even ELAT preparation.
I hope you have found my brief description informative, but please feel free to reach out if you have any questions. :)

Throughout my working life, teaching French has been my main occupation. Starting as a language assistant, working as a full time secondary school teacher and working as an Adult Education tutor I have developed a broad range of effective skills which enable the learners to gain confidence in using French whatever their starting level. Passing on my enthusiasm for languages has proven to be thoroughly rewarding. I always seek to inspire my students and I have received excellent feedback. In 2013, I received the award for “inspirational tutor” of the year from South Devon College, having been nominated before on several previous occasions. I have experience in teaching all age groups from children to adults and all levels, frоm beginners tо advanced. I have taught across the age and ability range. I set high expectations for student achievement, always seeking to challenge and motivate so as to maximise the potential of each and every learner.
I thrive on helping others and teaching French has always been one of my passions. I have been told I am very patient, I explain things very clearly and have a good sense of humour.

I have worked in the education setting for the past 9 years; working with children of differing ages and abilities. In 2013, I qualified as a Primary School teacher and took up my first teaching post in a school in Devon. I taught a mixed class of Year 4,5 and 6 children over many years and got through many Year 6 SATs testing too. During this time, I was part of an Ofsted inspection where I was graded ‘outstanding’ in my teaching practice.
I then went on to teach at another Devon primary school where I taught a variety of year groups. Having trained as a Maths specialist for teaching at Exeter University, I became the Mathematics Lead for the Exe Valley Federation. During this time, I went on to learn more about the best methods to teach Mathematics along with taking part in a Mathematics Mastery research programme. I supported teachers and ran training in how to improve Maths teaching across the schools.
Whilst studying for my degree at the Plymouth University, I spent time researching in both Special Needs and main stream Schools to learn about child development. In 2011, I worked as a Learning Support Assistant at a Special Needs School where I worked alongside the Mathematics teacher to support the children’s learning in a way that would work best for each child in the school.
Tutoring has become a natural progression for me after teaching for many years. I genuinely believe that with the right support ALL children can succeed. Watching children make small steps of progress has been the key to my love of teaching. As a tutor, I can gently assess your child and give them the extra support to help them gain the confidence they need in school. Many parents have mentioned how their child’s confidence has improved since tuition, not only in the subject they were tutored in, but as an individual overall. This in many ways is as important as grades achieved. Through the improvement in confidence, a child can start to flourish and will start to get more out of their school setting.

I have been teaching guitar and music theory for over a decade, as well as being an active professional musician. Graduating with a 1st Class degree in Music from Southampton University, I have since worked with many world class artists including Joss Stone, Jeff Beck, Beverley Knight, Joselyn Brown, Nitin Sawhney, Lamar, Mica Paris, Incognito, Lack Of Afro, Leigh Coleman, The Voice contestant Hannah Berney, Keith Emerson, KT Tunstall… I have performed at prestigious venues and festivals worldwide including Wembley Stadium, The Royal Albert Hall, Byron Bay Blues Festival and the North Sea Jazz Festival.
I have over a decade of experience teaching guitar and music theory in colleges and schools, as well as teaching private students and running group and university workshops. I have a full DBS check, Public Liability Insurance and am a member of the Musicians Union and the Registry of Guitar Tutors.
I uphold a friendly and professional attitude towards lessons, making sure the student gets the most out of their time with me and has fun. I encourage students to nurture their creativity in their musical journey, learning not just to play and reproduce what they hear, but develop their own voice, improvise and compose for themselves, be it a short riff or a symphony!
Lessons are planned around the students needs and abilities. I am able to teach all abilities from beginner to advanced, in all styles (including classical, rock, pop, funk and jazz) on both electric and acoustic guitar. Sight reading, reading tablature, and music theory are all taught within the lesson and I am able to tutor students through performance and theory exams. It’s not all about results, but for students looking to take grade exams I offer Rock School, RGT, LCM, ABRSM and Trinity College exam boards. I have a proven track record of success, with over 95% of students achieving a Distinction, and 100% achieiving Merit or higher. I can also support students with GCSE and A-Level studies in Music.
When I’m not teaching, performing or behind a guitar, you’ll probably find me walking through the Devon countryside with my miniature dachshund or enjoying some good food and local ale with my wife and baby son.
