I source most of my tutees via word of mouth recommendation and through my facebook page Milborne Maths. This academic year, I had a few resit students approach me therefore some slots have opened up mid way through the year now they have sat their exams which is unusual! I am usually fully booked by now and having to turn people away - so you may be in luck!
I use the zoom platform to host my lessons and have an online calendar that students usually book from.
Please message and I shall do my best to accommodate both of our needs and hopefully we are suited for maths lessons together!

Excellent references on request. Kind, caring and understanding tutor. Please get in contact if your child needs a boost, is finding school challenging or needs to gain confidence in their learning. All attainment levels- from children working below age related expectations to children who are more able.
Happy to chat through your requirements. As a mother of four, who also uses tutoring for my own children, I understand that tutoring is a significant financial commitment but, through one to one lessons, your child will be able to learn in a highly personalised and safe environment and will thrive.
High success rate of helping children to gain places at their school of choice.

I have been a History teacher in a large secondary school for nearly 15 years. I have mainly taught History and EPQ but can also teach Religious Studies and Government and Politics. Having also been a Head of Year I am understanding that all students learn in a different way and that a tutor can help to recognise effective ways that individuals learn and maximise them in a focussed environment. I have a great love for the humanities subjects and will be an enthusiastic and welcoming tutor for you, whatever your needs are.

Hi there! I'm Pip. I'm currently a secondary school Geography teacher at a school in Dorset, teaching KS3, GCSE and A Level. I'm originally from Northumberland, but have been living in Dorset since 2018. Prior to embarking on a teaching career in 2017, I worked for 8 years in London, for the YMCA, The Scout Association and Raleigh International, running volunteering programmes for young people.
I am able to provide online support for students completing home learning set during the lockdown, or provide additional resources to support learning. I have experience coaching GCSE and A Level students in revision and exam technique, as well as supervising A Level independent investigations. I am also offering English and History tutoring for primary-age/KS3.
I look forward to hearing from you; please feel free to send me a message for further information or to discuss.

I have recently retired (July 2020), aged 67, after 17 years teaching English at Shrewsbury School, one of the UK's leading independent boarding and day schools, recently voted TES Independent School of the Year. I was also a boarding housemaster for 13 years from 2007-2020. I graduated from Cambridge University (Magdalene College) in 1976 and qualified as a barrister in 1977. Fom 1977-2003 I was a legal writer, editor and for 15 years, from 1988-2003 Managing Director of one of the UK's leading law book publishers, Jordan Publishing Ltd. In 2003 I retired from the business to pursue a lifelong ambition to teach English.
At Shrewsbury School I taught GCSE, IGCSE and A level.
I have been married to my wife Ruth for 40 years and we have three grown-up children.
I am happy to tutor in person or online at our House here in Wells or at the pupil's location.

I am particularly strong in teaching English to all age groups but specifically KS2. I am also able to deliver strong support in maths in the 5-11 age range.
I recently qualified as a Sounds-Write practioner; a globally recognised reading programme. This enables me to help develop reading skills for young people of all abilities.
I am looking for part-time tutoring work and I would prefer to deliver lessons face-to-face. However, I have plenty of experience of delivering lessons remotely due to the work we did during the Covid lock downs.

I completed my PGCE in Secondary Maths in June 2017 as an outstanding trainee teacher and have continued engaging in my own teaching development since. Before that I was a SEN specialised Teaching Assistant. I demonstrate a strong work ethic to my students by currently undertaking a Masters Degree in Professional Development in Education through the University of Exeter. I have been teaching year 7 to 11 mathematics for the past 3 academic years, with informal experience before that through outreach programmes at my university. I enjoy adapting and refining my teaching to the needs of the student, whether that be due to gaps in knowledge, low self confidence, teacher absence, or learning needs. I have experience teaching students with Asperges Syndrome on a one to one basis, along with dyslexic, dyspraxia, echolalia, cerebral palsy and ADHD. I truly believe that everyone is able to be successful with mathematics. I design my lessons to build on previous knowledge, increase confidence and head for success. This is tailored to each individual student by analysing past work and mock exams. I am familiar with the Edexcel, OCR and AQA curriculum and the recent changes to the GCSE syllabus. I have recently been an Examiner for both Edexcel and OCR, affording me a robust knowledge into expectations and outcomes for GCSE examinations.
