Experienced tutor of Maths and English.
Specialism in GCSE and achieving the all important grade 4/5 for those who really need help.
I teach in a calm way using tried and trusted traditional methods that are easy to understand and which students like. I'll take the 'fear' of maths away so you'll achieve much more than you thought. I cover all aspects of the curriculum, how to understand what the maths questions are asking you to do and how to go about setting out a full and correct answer. This in my view is the key to lifelong learning and success.
I can help all those who really need it and want to achieve.

My journey in the field of mental health has been both extensive and diverse, encompassing a wide range of therapeutic modalities and client populations. This rich background enables me to offer a comprehensive and nuanced perspective to my students. At Chrysalis, I integrate both theoretical knowledge and practical application into my teaching, ensuring that students not only understand the core principles of counselling and psychotherapy but also feel confident in applying these principles in real-world scenarios.
My approach to teaching is grounded in empathy, active listening, and a deep respect for the unique experiences and perspectives that each student brings to the learning environment. I believe in creating a supportive and interactive classroom atmosphere where students are encouraged to engage deeply with the material, ask questions, and develop their own therapeutic style.
In addition to my teaching role, I am committed to ongoing professional development, regularly attending workshops, conferences, and training sessions to stay abreast of the latest advancements in the field. This commitment ensures that my teaching remains current, relevant, and informed by the latest research and best practices.
At Chrysalis, I have the privilege of working with a diverse and dynamic group of students, each of whom is passionate about making a positive impact in the field of mental health. It is immensely rewarding to witness their growth and development as they progress through their training, and I am honored to play a part in their journey towards becoming skilled and compassionate mental health professionals.

Childcare and Early years, is an area of education that I am very enthusiastic about and I would like the opportunity to make learning for others as enjoyable and fulfilling as my own has been. As a teacher, it is my role to provide opportunities for all, regardless of ability, and to ensure that everyone has a positive experience. Throughout my time in education I have always had a passion for teaching this lead me to complete a BA Hons in Education Studies. Where in my first year I studied topics such as Historical and Contemporary issues and teaching and learning in the primary sector. In addition, the second year of my degree I went on to study Philosophy of Education this gave me great insight into the contributions of key philosophers to our understanding of education, ranging from classical thinkers such as Plato and Aristotle to contemporary ones including Paulo Freire and Richard Rorty. This was one of my favourite topics as I found all the different theories very interesting. Furthermore, I have also undertaken placement while successfully completing my PGCE at Bolton College, it was here which provided me with an invaluable insight into different teaching styles and assessment strategies. One of the modules I undertook while studying for my PGCE was promoting positive behaviour. I feel very passionate about this topic and find all the different theories behind it very interesting. I also used some of them in my teachings for example Lev Vygotsky believe we should support students learning by assessing their prior knowledge and then giving them tools to increase this knowledge. This is done by letting the student figure out how to use the tools, to encourage them to move on to the next level of learning. ‘What a child can do today with assistance, tomorrow she will be able to do by herself’ this quote was coined by Vygotsky himself and backs up his beliefs. It is my intention to combine my array of experiences with my ability to be a compassionate, enthusiastic and approachable tutor who will make a positive influence. I believe my academic achievements and experience to date will provide a solid foundation to build on and transfer my knowledge and skills into providing the finest learning environment. My own academic experiences have reinforced my belief in the great importance of education and also helped me develop a number of key skills and abilities which have enabled me to develop as a scholar and an individual. I am hardworking, determined, dedicated and feel that I can offer a substantial contribution to the competences required for the position.

I am a qualified secondary teacher and have experience teaching children from 5+ to 18.
I specialise in KS2 Sats/Eleven plus, KS3 Humanities, GCSE History and Politics at A-Level.
As a committed, driven and passionate teacher and I tailor my lessons to individual needs, I am patient, approachable and flexible to the pupils and I have experience working with children from reception all the way to 18+ with a range of SEND in a range of Lancashire schools.
I have a Politics degree from a good university, 10 GCSE's A*-C and 3 A-Levels from Lancashire's leading independent school.
I work primarily with videos/visuals, workbooks, textbooks and power points, I encourage a lot of independent learning, reading and note making, researching information and critical thinking, with my assistance and my resources to the older years (16+) which also enables prep for university/further education. I have also taught RE at KS3/GCSE and Geography at KS3. Working with all students is rewarding for me, I love being a teacher and seeing pupils flourish and reach their full potential.
