I am a highly experienced teacher of psychology and sociology with excellent track record on engagement, confidence-building and results; past examiner for AQA psychology. Very experienced with AQA psychology and AQA sociology, I have also taught/tutored Edexcel & IB psychology (standard and higher level), OCR & WJEC sociology. Excellent resources to support students with tricky topics, help develop skills and allow stretch & challenge to meet the top mark bands. Follow me online on Facebook and Instagram as The Learning Navigator to access free psychology resources including my special topic summary sheets called octals.
If you are struggling with the research methods components of the courses, I can demystify, explain these and build your confidence with mathematical skills/statistical testing. Not sure how to structure examination answers for the longer questions? I can help with that too. Extensive experience means I can deliver comprehensive examination skills and guidance along with detailed subject content.
I have a Masters degree in teaching and learning and enjoy working with students to develop effective learning strategies and build confidence. Study skills development is a speciality - work smarter, build confidence, achieve better!
I am tutoring full-time after many years working in schools and quickly became fully booked, with many personal recommendations. I do accept new clients and conduct a free assessment to ensure there is a good fit and I feel I can help the specific student achieve their goals. I put a lot of work and preparation into sessions to tailor them specifically to my students' needs and have achieved excellent results including an A grade in sociology for a student who missed the whole of Year 12 at school and a C grade for a student for scored a U in their mocks just a couple of months before the exams! I cannot guarantee getting a student a particular grade and it is important to be realistic about your expectations before starting tutoring. One to one tutoring is very effective but is not a replacement for hard work and the many other factors that affect the outcome. Please enquire via Learning Navigator on Facebook or Instagram for more details and to book your free initial assessment.
Terms and conditions
I pride myself on building up a good working relationship with my clients. Since tutoring is normally for a period of some months as examinations approach and in the interests of fair play for both parties, I've set out some key points regarding charges and cancellations during the tutoring period.
Charges
A-Level sessions are delivered online weekly via Teams in one-hour blocks. Charges reflect my qualifications, experience and the way my sessions are tailored to each individual student’s needs, making them highly effective at boosting learning, confidence and grades. Knowing all the misconceptions and pitfalls on content and structuring examination questions makes all the difference and it is vital that tutoring is effective for the student.
I am happy to offer each new client one free initial assessment and discussion session to assess the needs and type of help required plus it gives you a chance to see how I work and fit in with your requirements. There is no obligation on either side to continue after this first session.
Cancellations Policy
Once a regular slot has been booked for the student, the same time every week, I will endeavour always to be available to tutor them. There is scope for discussion if a session needs to be rearranged (24 hours requested), subject to my availability.
From time to time, flexibility on both sides is required due to life events and unexpected occurrences. This may involve cancellation of a particular session or the need to reschedule and I will always try to accommodate if I can do so.

I am an academic by profession and I have been a personal tutor for 8 years on various website including online and in person. My goal is to share my knowledge with people of all age groups who are interested in learning a foreign language and humanities subjects either for personal exams or just for fun. I also aim to make my lessons as enjoyable as possible not just for the sake of breaking the "monotony" of classroom style teaching, but also because I want to engage with my tutees in order to help them achieve their best results in the most efficient way possible. Plus, I personally believe that everyone is competent and capable of learning any subject or language as long as the relationship between tutors and students are on the same page, and the lessons are made to be more engaging and reachable. For further details, do not hesitate to write a message to me. I look forward to your messages and queries! :)
