I graduated from the University of Sheffield with a 2. 1 degree in sociology and social policy. After working for 2 years as a family support worker for a child protection team, I completed a masters in Social Work. My 2 placements were working for the charity Mind, un a support capacity, the second placements was in a residential family assessment unit. After graduation I worked for 2 years as a child protection Social Worker in a deprived area. I moved to Cumbria in 2008 and started work as a Social Worker for a fostering team, specialising in kinship care assessments. I gained a level 2 practice education award, which enabled me to be a practice educator for students on placement in my organisation.
I enjoyed working with students so much that I decided to work as a lecturer in Social Work at the University of Cumbria. I gained my PgC within a year of starting this employment. I can teach all areas of social work. My specialisms are sociology, child and adult safeguarding law and practice, contemporary issues, global issues, mulit-agency anti-opressive and anti-discriminatiotory practice and delocolonising higher education. I have also taught on the Health and Social Care Course, teaching duty of care principles and practice. With 9 years experience in teaching students I have developed creative and stimulating ways of working. I can teach effectively on-line from experience of this during the pandemic. I encourage debate in my teaching and questioning ideas and dilemmas. I offer a safe and inclusive ways of teaching.

I’m a Master’s degree graduate with a strong passion for the social sciences, offering tutoring in History, Religious Education, and Sociology. My experience as a supply teaching assistant has equipped me with the skills to support students of all abilities in the classroom. As someone with dyslexia, I understand the importance of accessible learning and use inclusive strategies to help students—particularly those with learning differences—build confidence and succeed.

I have been teaching for 13 years, working with a variety of students with different needs. I worked in London, before moving to Nottingham in July 2011. I am currently Head of Social Science and am teaching Psychology AQA and Sociology AQA, both at A level. I have met and trained with cheif examiners, so am confident in helping students to prepare for exams in these subjects. I am also currently an examiner for AQA A Level psychology and have 11 years of experience of marking exam papers which helps me teach students how to answer exam style questions in most precise way.
I have a fresh approach to teaching, making sure my students understand the topic they are studying rather than just memorising the details. Psychology is the study of the real world, and as such, students should be able to link theory to the wider world.
I have conducted online tuition for students who have not been living in the same city as me, but had wanted my expertise and support in learning psychology and sociology. I am a confident user of IT and can utilise online tools to help support students during online tuition sessions.

Hi, I’m Unaysah! I’m a dedicated university student with a passion for English and helping others succeed. Having achieved top grades in both English Language and Literature, I understand the challenges students face and know how to make learning enjoyable and effective.
Before starting university, I worked as a manager at a tuition centre where I also tutored children of various ages and abilities. This experience taught me how to tailor my teaching methods to suit different learning styles and helped me develop strong communication and leadership skills. I’m very familiar with AQA exam boards and their requirements, so I design lessons that focus on key exam skills and content.
I genuinely love teaching because I believe everyone deserves the chance to shine academically. I remember struggling with complex texts myself and how the right support changed everything. That’s why I’m committed to being a patient, encouraging guide who helps students unlock their full potential.
In lessons with me, you can expect interactive, engaging methods that make learning dynamic and fun. We’ll use a mix of discussion, multimedia resources, practice questions, and past papers to build your confidence and improve your exam technique. I focus on breaking down difficult concepts into manageable steps and helping you develop critical thinking and analytical skills.
My goal is not just to help you pass exams but to foster a genuine love for learning that lasts beyond school. You can count on me to be professional, reliable, and fully invested in your progress every step of the way.
Whether you’re preparing for English, Sociology, or Religious Studies, I’m here to support your journey and help you succeed with confidence.
