I am a first year Physics student at the University of Kent. I have always enjoyed teaching and academia, so much so that my dream in life is to become a theoretical physicist after graduation. As you will note from my qualifications and professional experience, I have taught all four subjects for some 35 years, at College, University, Sixth Form College and High School. While the majority of my teaching has been in the UK, mainly in Birmingham, London and Bristol, nevertheless I have also taught abroad at university in the Philippines. Additionally, I have been an A'Level Politics and History examiner for the former London and Oxford & Cambridge boards in the 1990s and early post-millennium decade. So also, have I written course brochures for the History and Politics Distance - learning programmes for the National Extension College, Cambridge. All of this has added up to my having acquired a broad professional experience, which I put to the benefit of my students.
My teaching style is very much subject and communication based, with the emphasis applying knowledge and essay skills towards achieving the best exam results. There is also a priority attached to reading and grammar skills, both of which appear to be neglected by the contemporary British educational establishment.
