A few testimonials from past and current clients (more are available to view on my website Serenity Education and Tutoring)
"I just want to send my thanks for offering us online tutoring via Skype. Following a few weeks of face to face lessons, a change in circumstances meant my daughter wouldn’t be able to attend for 3 weeks. Rather than have to cancel you offered us online lessons which I was happy to accept, but to be honest a little sceptical. I shouldn’t have been. The lessons are structured really well and work perfectly using webcams and online learning tools. You’ve done a really great job of keeping the lessons interesting but also really focused. We’re happy to continue with our online lessons and have now booked more for the Easter holidays. We highly recommend them and Nicola to anyone." Year 6, March 2020
"Nicola has been tutoring my daughter for about 6 months. She makes her lessons fun and during lockdown her online zoom lessons have been invaluable. My daughter was lacking confidence in maths and literacy and Nicola is really helping her to build confidence, especially in maths which she has made good progress in. I would highly recommend Nicola and her friendly and fun approach to learning." Year 3, July 2020
"Nicola has provided excellent maths tuition to our daughter who is in year 8 and we would highly recommend her to anyone who is thinking about having tuition for their child . She has provided wonderful support and we have seen our daughter’s progress with her maths improve dramatically since starting tuition with Nicola; she has really made a big difference and our daughter’s confidence with her maths is far greater than before. We moved from face to face tuition to online tuition as a result of the COVID-19 situation and this transition has proven extremely successful. Our daughter has continued to thrive with her maths with the online tuition and she really enjoys using the online tools and interaction during her sessions, we have been very impressed with this method. We would highly recommend Nicola’s tuition service and would like to say how grateful we are for her continuing support, professionalism and calm approach; she continues to be a welcome source of relief for our daughter, who before her tuition was finding maths a struggle but now has the understanding and interest to develop and learn and enjoy this subject." Year 8, July 2020
"Nicola has provided very thoughtful, thorough Maths tuition for our son in year 6. She has really been creative in the sessions, thinking of personally tailored ways to engage his interest. She has a kind manner and has helped to build his confidence as well as his ability. For a child who thought he couldn't stand Maths, I've been amazed by how much he has enjoyed his lessons. The online lessons have worked brilliantly too." Year 6, July 2020

Science Clinic Private Tutors was founded in 2010. Our vision was to help struggling children understand the concepts of the major subjects which are sought after by many colleges & universities. Our tutoring was mainly in the main subjects (Maths, all 3 Sciences & English Language) to exam students only. Because of the huge demand of tutoring in all year groups, we now teach students across the board from Primary (KS1 & KS2) through to GCSE, A-level and University. We were luck to have had colleagues we share the same vision with join us. Now we can teach all subjects from Primary through to GCSE, College /A-levels and Science & Maths at University level. All our teachers / tutors are graduates and qualified teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) who understand the National Curriculum. Some of them are examiners at GCSE and A-level, which means they know the exam techniques students need to answer the exam questions properly and get better grades. Within the team, we have professionals with very high qualifications ie Masters Degrees (MSc / MA) and PhDs in various subjects. We can, therefore, be confident to say we are professionals who are dedicated to what we do with proven records in the UK’s most entrance and national exams. We are a tutoring organisation that is defined by its professionalism. Our aim is to provide a personal service. This makes us very different from most tutoring companies that just offer a platform for tutors and students to meet. We speak to clients so that we can match them with the most appropriate tutor for their needs. When this happens, the results can be remarkable & confidence grows. We personally know all our tutors and all have had DBS checks and their qualifications checked before we take them on. We are also a member of The Tutors’ Association (TTA) which was formed in 2013 to provide standards to the tutoring industry.

I also have a 100% success rate at primary aged children gaining a place at independent schools for their secondary education, with all who applied for a scholarship being sucessful.

My Psychology degree and 9 years of experience working with children with Neuro-divergence and additional educational needs prior to teaching have significantly shaped my approach to teaching.
I prioritise relationship building and trust with students and their caregivers.
I am patient, kind, and incredibly encouraging but have high expectations. I work with students for them to also gain high expectations in themselves. This may happen in the first few sessions or may take a longer period of time depending on the student.
I help students gain high expectations for themselves by initially giving tasks where they are guaranteed success, then celebrating and reflecting on this success and how they were able to use the skills taught and their effort to complete the task. This builds a persons confidence and significantly increases the likelihood of attempting more difficult tasks. This is heavily proven by research (and seen in my classroom daily) known as the “theory of self efficacy” and the “theory of planned behaviour”.
If a person does not believe a task is within their capability, they are incredibly unlikely to even attempt it (No matter how much we believe they can do it).
It is my job to SHOW students they can do it by designing tasks and lessons in a way that they feel challenged finish with pride in their achievements.
When teaching new skills I will show them first, then we will complete a task together, then they will apply the skills independently. I will be constantly assessing as they work independently and provide support where necessary. The ultimate goal is to phase back my support until they are using the taught skills correctly, consistently, confidently and independently.
Lessons will vary depending on students needs. If caregivers want to spend a percentage of the lesson to discuss, that will be agreed upon. If there are specific targets you want me to cover then we can dedicate time for you to tell me these expectations. If you would prefer me to assess your student and gage where the gaps are and plan accordingly, that is also ok.
I would suggest an initial session to meet, and discuss goals.
Some classes you may benefit from:
-SATs Prep
-Phonics
-Reading (comprehension, vocabulary, inferencing, predictions, explaining, retrieval, sequencing, summarising, making links, authors intent)
-Spelling
-Grammar (or Spelling and grammar combined)
-Maths
-Maths (arithmetic)
-Maths (Reasoning and Problem solving)
-Target specific - has your teacher said there are targets you need to work on in various subjects?
-Science
-History
-Geography
-Psychology (GCSE, A Level)
Is your child in secondary school but needs support in the foundation subjects such as reading, writing or maths?
Reading and writing is an essential skills in secondary school for every subject. I can support your child to close the gap so they can access all subjects with their peers. Having worked in secondary schools before, I have seen how much students are required to read and write in all lessons, but there will not be opportunities to learn these fundamental skills at school.
I welcome students of all ages (including adults) from all backgrounds and of all abilities.
I look forward to meeting you soon and celebrating the amazing progress ahead!

Mathematics, English, French and Romanian for any age. And all the support you need in primary school to be more confident and develop your skills and learning techniques. I can work simultaneously with siblings of different ages. School is fun at home!!!
For over twenty years I was an English/French teacher to students between the ages of 3 to 19.
I also have over thirty years of experience in teaching English, French, Romanian, Mathematics and Physics in private. The objectives varied from reaching higher level of achievement (facilitating the admission to elite schools, higher educational programs or award of scholarships) to getting better school results, feeling more confident, developping academic and social skills.
For five years I had a successful afterschool program with children of ages between 3 and 12. I supported them to do their homework, taught drama, English, French and German, we did a lot of crafts and art activities, cooking, writing and creative playing.

If you are looking for someone who is dedicated to helping every child succeed in whatever they aim to achieve then look no further. I am passionate about helping children learn and am highly qualified to teach children up to GCSE level. I have had experience teaching children with SEND needs also so would be able to prepare a bespoke set of sessions for any individual. I ask any pupil who is looking for tutoring to to complete a short baseline test to give an accurate current picture of where they are starting from. A meeting with parents to negotiate timescale and to establish end goals is essential. I am able to come to a home if this is where the pupil may feel most comfortable or I am currently preparing a fresh space for learning at my residence which is due to be completed mid February. For more information, please contact me. I look forward to hearing from you! Miss S..

As a qualified teacher, with over 10 years' experience across the primary phase, I have been able to support children make accelerated progress in their maths, reading and writing.
In particular, I have worked to support children with preparing for their SATS in KS1 and KS2.
I prefer to work with children 1:1 to ensure they get the targeted support they need to reach their potential. I find that in-person support works best for reading.
I have a secure knowledge of how children learn, and have taught all subjects, so I am well-equipped to support children in all areas of their learning beyond English and maths.
