I currently teach A Level and GCSE History, along with A Level Politics, at an independent college in Bath, and also have experience teaching KS3, KS4 and GCSE.
I teach History (KS3, GCSE, A-Level), Politics (A-Level) and Sociology (A-Level). My most recent A-Level Politics group achieved 100% A*-C, and within my GCSE History group over 60% achieved above their predicted grade.
I am able to provide full lessons, revision sessions, lesson catch up, homework help, exam skills sessions etc. I will tailor these to your needs, and work with you to help make progress. These sessions can be virtual or socially distanced in person in an outdoor area.
My philosophy is to make learning fun and engaging, while at the same time purposeful and focussed.
I have a First Class Degree in History, a Masters Degree in Education, and am currently working towards my doctorate in Education (EdD).
I am also a senior examiner for AQA in GCSE History, and have many years of experience in marking papers.

I am a Team Leading examiner for GCSE History and A Level Politics and hold an Associate membership from the Chartered Institute of Educational Assessors. I hold my Advance Skills teaching from Warwick University (BECTA) and my teaching certificate from the University of Lancaster. I have written research papers on education and history, published under BECTA (2005/6/7) that analysed the way that students learned. Hello. I am an enthusiastic, helpful, and approachable secondary school teacher who already has a wealth of experience teaching various subjects at different levels. I have taught A Level Sociology for the past 16 years. Initially I taught on the OCR specification and when the A Levels were reformed I moved to AQA. I specialise in teaching crime and deviance and stratification, but also have a lot of experience with family, education and research methods topics. Historically I have taught culture, youth and global. I am adept at creating resources for students based on their learning needs and have trained as an A Level student coach. In this role I have supported individuals and groups with motivation, organisation and exam planning. I have experience tutoring A Level Politics. I also helped prepare students for applying to Oxbridge and Russell Group universities.
Students have benefitted from my positivity and excellent subject knowledge over my many years of teaching to gain very positive results for themselves, whether this is helping students move from A's to A* to students who have been working at an E who go on to achieve a C.
