I am familiar with Drama GCSE AQA and Edexcel syllabus and can help with the written exam, set texts, how to write like a performer, designer, director and theatre critic as well as how to write a top band devising portfolio. I can help with practical work especially monologues and how to deliver a top band one using script analysis and breaking down the content and delivery. I can help you with any set text, just let me know what play you are studying.
I am familiar with A Level Theatre Studies and Drama Edexcel syllabus as well and can help with all components including Section A-C of the written exam - again, just tell me what set text you are studying and I can help. I am familiar with the practitioners, Stanislavsky, Brecht and Artaud and can link them to any set text for the director question or help with understanding them at a deeper level for devised group work. I have given 1:1 Brecht online classes to degree students who gained 1st in their Brecht presentations thanks to my teaching and support.
I am very happy to help with auditions and UCAS personal statements and application process to Drama degrees or Drama schools and currently support a fostered student with the SpringForward UCAS programme. They have appreciated my guidance and I would be happy to help with this as well.
I taught the Performing Arts BTEC and many of my students have gone on to work within the industry. I have directed many scripted and devised shows and would be happy to help directing groups nearby.
My students enjoy my teaching style and I try and make my classes fun both in person and online. I use warm ups focussing on the physical and vocal techniques. I love to see my students develop their performance skills and grow in confidence through Drama.
I can tutor English as well and taught it to GCSE for four years and KS3 for 20 years.

My name is Christine Borg. I grew up in a small island where my education led me to a Bachelor’s degree in General Medical Studies. However, the artistic fibre in me eventually took me to London to study Drama and in 2017, I graduated with a Master’s degree from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.
I returned to my family and pursued my other life interests: dogs, target shooting, and SCUBA diving amongst other things. I had to earn a living besides trying to put into practice my Acting career. I managed to balance work and getting some experience in Theatre, TV, film, Radio voice overs and singing.
The best balance of work and satisfaction came through teaching but, after Summer 2019 my life brought me back to the UK, where I now live. I took the first good job that came along, solely to earn my living.
However, I want my work be worthwhile besides being my financial income. Satisfaction in my job is of the utmost importance to me, and I believe I can achieve this through teaching.
My qualifications allow me to teach English to students form 3-year-olds to adults, GCSE level Chemistry, Biology and Physics and Science to 8 to 16-year-old students.
As I wish to continue teaching Online, I use all my experience from my TEFL qualifications and Drama school days to improvise and make my lessons as interactive and as interesting as possible. In English classes, in particular, I can help the students with their pronunciation and conversation by giving them confidence in themselves. I try to apply a positive outlook in whatever I am teaching. Engaging with the student is the basis for learning.

I am currently in my third year of Secondary teaching at a comprehensive school in Surrey. I teach Drama for Year 7 through to Year 13. I also teach English to Year 7 through to Year 9.
I have a range of experience with SEND needs and can differentiate my teaching to meet any needs your child may have.
At the moment, I am only offering online tutoring. I am more than happy to be more flexible with my times if needs be.

My teaching career began over two decades ago. I spent six happy years at the ArtsEd Drama School in Chiswick, where, rather serendipitously, I assumed the reins of responsibility from MY drama teacher! I worked for a further 15 years at a highly ambitious and educationally driven institution, Ibstock Place School in Roehampton. I still teach part-time at Ewell Castle School, near Epsom. I am a highly experienced practitioner of Drama. I have directed countless productions, small and large scale. I have Production Managed almost every single one, so good organisation and the requirement to be 'people-friendly' and an effective communicator, are skills I acquired quickly and retain today. Most of all, I am proud to say that former pupils have gone on to study at a host of vocational training institutions: RADA, Guildhall, Brit, London Contemporary and Laines, and are themselves now successfully working professionally as actors, singer, dancers and stage managers. Some have even gone on to play leading roles on Broadway, the West-End, the RSC, Regent's Park and film and TV. I have taught both GCSE and A-Level Drama with a proven track record of outstanding results, year on year. I know what exam boards require and what pitfalls to avoid. I understand different learning styles and appreciate that young people do not necessarily fall into the same learning mould. I am happy to accommodate everyone. I have examined Drama GCSE and Expressive Arts GCSE for AQA. In pastoral roles, as a former Head of Year 11 and Sixth Form Tutor, I am acutely aware of the physical and mental pressures our teenagers can experience as they try to navigate the choppy waters around public examinations season. You will find me empathic, patient and interested in helping learners challenge their perceptions of learning, helping them shift from a 'fixed' mindset to a 'growth' mindset, thus repairing a bruised self-confidence in the process. I have taught LAMDA Examinations in Acting and ESB (English Speaking Board) Public Speaking Examinations, each to Grade 8, Gold Medal Level, once again, with a proven track record of success. Throughout my career, I have always held a managerial role. I have been Subject Leader for Drama, Head of a large Creative Arts Faculty and also on the Senior Leadership team at ArtEd. Latterly at IPS, I was on the Building Committee, advising on constructing a state-of-the-art Performing Arts Complex which included a Proscenium Arch Theatre and fully equipped Studio Theatre. Crucially, my teaching work has been underpinned and informed by my early career working as a professional actor and Stage Manager. I studied a Performing Arts degree at Middlesex University, after which, I spent a decade performing in the West-End and National Touring large-scale musicals. I have worked extensively in the recording studio and on the radio. Until Covid hit last year, I was the Stage Door Keeper of the Noel Coward Theatre, working for Sir Cameron Mackintosh.

Formerly an Advanced Skills Teacher for Drama and Performing Arts, I was appointed as a Senior Lead Practitioner for Creativity in 2019. My first degree was in English Literature at Southampton. This was followed by a PGCE in Drama and English from the Institute of Education, and another PGCE in Directing Text with Young People, before moving on to my Masters in Education (Drama) working with the University of Middlesex and Trestle Theatre.
My teaching, leadership and whole school responsibilities have included: English Language and Literature; Drama and Theatre Studies; Media and Film Studies; Cross-Curricular Literacy; Raising Boys’ Achievement; Creative and Cultural entitlement. I have worked in a variety of contexts throughout London and Hertfordshire. Most recently, I led a 2-year journey of Creative Teaching and Learning across a two-site secondary school, working towards Artsmark accreditation in April 2021.
During lockdown, I embraced the challenges of remote learning and enjoyed the opportunity to experiment with different modes of delivery and interaction. TutorExtra has given me the perfect opportunity to extend the influence of over 30 years of teaching and learning expertise. I look forward to working with another new cohort of students as we all forge ahead into the ‘new normal’ of education. If you are looking for a highly experienced and effective teacher of English Literature, particularly when it comes to Shakespeare, then here I am.

These lessons also have an option of working towards shooting a showreel scene if requested (£negotiable). Showreels are essential in progressing in the industry. Currently represented by Longrun Artistes ( www.*** ). All professional work can be found here: www.*** www.*** www.*** www.*** My first film was nominated for the Brighton Rocks Film Festival and my latest film is currently on the festival circuit. TESTIMONIALS: "As a DoP on the project I witnessed a professional attitude at all times with a deep respect towards his team and a clarity of style purpose and collaboration with my skills. He is very creative and displays a caring talent towards story telling. In my judgement of 40 years experience in the film biz Daniel is and will make a great writer director." - Ben Cole, DP ("Made In Dagenham") "Daniel and I were fortunate to know each other previously, having worked together on a full feature left-field European film (Alice Through the Looking). Coming together on Gandad there was, therefore, a mutual understanding of style and artistic integrity. Significant discussions and pre-production work also ensured clarity for me, as Gandad, what key objectives were. Daniel’s excellent and clear scripting ensured further clarity. This combination of pre-production skills was therefore instrumental on-set in determining accurate and timely scheduling. Further clarity with DOP added to a smooth and entirely professional approach to achieving timely objectives." - John Locke, Actor (The Darkest Hour).
