After graduating with an honours degree in Mathematics, Zahra entered the hedge fund world where she studied for CIMA and CFA qualifications. During that time she also taught on a voluntary basis, before deciding to pursue teaching full time. She is a supportive and friendly teacher, who has taught GCSE, IGCSE and A-Level Mathematics and Further Mathematics for over 10 years.
As well as teaching maths, Zahra is also responsible for the delivery of the Medical Programme designed for students applying for medicine, dentistry or veterinary science and specialises in training students for the UKCAT and BMAT exams.

I am a maths teacher in a popular school in the UK with an MSc in Engineering, and experience in teaching secondary and primary students over physical and online settings.
I believe in student-centered maths learning with independence. I already have experience in assessing students' onboarding and selecting the support plans at ''Global Edtech''. Moreover, I have also worked on SENs (dyslexia, dyscalculia, autism) students that will support this role. I always encourage my students to have a conceptual understanding over the procedural understanding, this would definitely encourage students for their effort, and hence each student will get their own motivation, thus having room for development as well. Having learned different pedagogies of maths learning, I believe I would be a good fit with the strong maths understanding and the experience.

I have been tutoring maths, physics & chemistry GCSE/ A-Level and adult learners, for over 8 years, and have helped many students improve their exam results.

I usually visit students in their homes, but also do lessons via Whatsapp (which works great as we can have phone and laptop open at the same time and send documents). During the Corona-virus shutdown, all lessons will be done via Whatsapp with payment via bank transfer please.

I have just started my 17th year of teaching at a Grammer School in Amersham, I also worked at an inner London comprehensive for 10 years previously. My aim as a tutor is to help students have a good understanding of the topics, by identifying the areas they need more support with. As an older graduate entering the teaching profession, my recent international teaching and work experience resulted in a “eureka” moment for me. Not only have I enjoyed teaching and working with children, but I have really felt a sense of importance with the improvements and progress I have been involved in. My experience teaching in schools highlighted the lack of opportunities in life that still arise from poor education and developed a sense of advocacy in me, where my experience, personality, and drive would really make a difference in the classroom.
I have gained valuable teaching experience in both selective and non-selective schools; taught in multicultural schools as well as schools where the mother tongue was not English.
