A Level Chemistry Tuition
I was a very successful Head of Department and since retirement I have been giving private lessons to students in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, either in their own home or from my home in Loscoe, near Heanor and am also available to provide online tuition via WhatsApp to students located anywhere in the world.
I tutor both home educated and school children and am familiar with all the major syllabi, such as Nuffield, Edexcel and AQA.
I tutor Chemistry up to 'A' Level and Science to GCSE / SATs level and I like to make the sessions both enjoyable and challenging, believing that creating a relaxed, fun learning environment aids the learning process.
As part of the chemistry classes I include techniques for achieving good results in your exam, such as revision techniques and the best approach when answering exam questions.

I am a very dedicated teacher who specialises in biology but am confident in all three sciences.
I aim to make learning as engaging as possible for all abilities.
I think that my enthusiasm for the subject comes across in my teaching, especially in a one to one setting.
I currently use the AQA specification but am very familiar with Edexcel also.
I love teaching and I love tutoring as it allows more focus on specific areas as well as identifying the child’s areas of strength and weakness.
I strive to make all of science accessible and enjoyable for students, relating topics to real life. I have taught a range of abilities and SEN needs while at my current school while also leading the STEM program, aiming to engage all students.

I hold a PhD from Imperial College London. have a strong academic track record and have led cutting-edge research teams in projects for multinational pharmaceutical and biotech companies including Unilever, GlaxoSmithKline, Zeneca, Novartis and others. I have published scientific research which has been cited over 2200 times in the peer-reviewed literature and I serve on the Editorial Boards of four reputable international scientific journals. I am fascinated by science and maths and I believe my genuine enthusiasm for the fields, combined with my working knowledge, based on years as an active researcher, is evident in my teaching.
I enjoy working with students of varying ages and abilities and take pride in encouraging students to reach their full potential. I am patient and understanding in my approach, which I will adapt to meet the strengths and needs of individual learners.
I have years of experience as a tenured university lecturer where I taught at both undergraduate and postgraduate level. I have supervised 8 PhD students to successful completion of their thesis. Having interviewed numerous UCAS candidates for degree places, I can also offer advice to hone your personal statement.
Tutoring Experience
Previous A'level results are: 100% A*-C, 85% A*-A, 8% B, 7% C. 100% of students got into their first choice universities and 31% achieved placed in medical school. These grades are representative of the results achieved in previous years. 2023 GCSE results were 100% grades 9-7 from students taking higher level papers and 100% grade 5 from students sitting the foundation level papers (the highest grade they could attain).
I have been a full-time tutor for the past eleven years and I am a past Vice-President of The Tutors' Association, the professional body for the tuition industry. I was elected into this position by members of the tutoring profession. I tutor as a full-time profession.
I am very familiar with all the major examination boards (AQA, OCR, EdExcel, IB, CIE), I have recent school-based teaching experience at secondary level and I am a current and very experienced biology examiner and question setter, which enables me to explain things from "the examiner's perspective"!
I have worked with children with special educational needs such as Asperger Syndrome, autism, ADHD, partial hearing and dyslexia. Having lived and worked abroad for a number of years, I also have experience of working with students for whom English is an additional language.
Tutoring Approach
I offer tuition either online or face-to-face at my home, where I have an area which is free from distractions and all my materials and resources are immediately available to make tuition as effective as possible.
I believe in taking a very individual approach to tutoring, adapting approaches and resources to fit the needs of the individual. Prior to commencing tuition we will agree tuition goals and I will work with these to develop a personalized scheme of learning. During tuition I will monitor student progress and keep records of this so that learning and attainment can be tracked and approaches can be continually adapted to meet the developing needs of the learner.
However, most importantly of all, I believe learning should be fun. I am friendly and approachable and I work hard to ensure students enjoy having tuition, which ultimately will maximize the progress they make.

I have been a part-time tutor for four years. My personality and qualities fit complementary to tutoring, developing others’ potential by sharing mine. I have assisted and tutored young students from simple intervention sessions (helping young children develop their English & Maths skills) and GCSE & A-Level students towards exams and entrance exams, bringing success into the study community.
MECHANICAL & AEROSPACE Engineering support For University students is also available"
I specialise in working with students on a 1-on-1 basis, easing and tackling individual areas of difficulty at their appropriate pace – something that can be difficult to receive in the standard school environment. My teaching approach is adaptive upon students’ own learning attitude, thus, presenting resources in various ways. It is focused on fostering a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of a topic, before applying that knowledge to solving questionnaires. I also specially aid with exam preparation to share my own unique methods of working and exam techniques/tips. Ultimately, I aim to develop one’s self-esteem and perseverance to fulfil their own aspirations.
I have taught a wide age group from 5 to 24, which my past tutor sessions were based on creativity of my hobbies such as art, which always worked absolutely well since when I was a GCSE student.
I have many experiences working with children, especially with spending my work experience as an assistant in a primary school class, I was able to interact and deal with various situations to keep the children calm, focused and motivated. As a school tutor, I utilised my organisational skills to collect resources and investigated various methods of teaching to find the most efficient way to deliver difficult contents, suiting the students’ own learning attitude appropriately. I evolved my communication competency whilst discovering the students’ difficulty and preferred revision methods, also.
I am someone who has academically succeeded highly through UK national curriculum. I have passion towards mathematics thus, I have participated and have been awarded many times for UKMT, and moreover, for Chemistry and Physics Olympiad challenges as Gold and Bronze respectively. I held responsibility as a School Ambassador and School tutoring, volunteered to be a Reader Leader who helps those who struggle reading and understanding the story with success. I aid in writing model answers for GCSE & A-Level exam questions as well. Not only am I self-disciplined and persevered but I enjoy hobbies that are based on creativity: DIY craft and art, piano, dancing, sport, ballet, balancing my work and leisure. I am also fluent in English and relatively fluent in Korean with a basic level of French language. My experiences in life, living in various different countries allowed me to interact and adapt into many different societies, overcoming many barriers. Hence, I am very approachable and developed lots of life skills.
Not only have I built responsibilities and punctuality and polished my competencies. For those who I mentor have developed their own self-esteem, confidence and perseverance to fulfil their own aspirations.

Other students sucess:
Getting 3/4 jumped to 6/7 for GCSE, D to B for A level, Help students get into oxbridge, imperial, UCL and medicine, as well as helped other students learn 1-3 years ahead making them top in their year! You can be next! I also help home schooling kids to provide better, personalised and faster education than school.
I believe I have a strong educational background. I received 75% first class for biomedical sciences in UCL. I have received 8A*, 3As and B for my GCSE and I got an A for physics and I graduated with A*A*A* for Maths, Chemistry and biology for A level. Throughout my secondary school, I have been nominated several times as the top in the year for several subjects like Maths, Chemistry and Physics. I have also contributed to Maths and Biology Olympiad achieving silver for both. I have also written model answers for PMT Education last month thus GCSE – A level contents for Maths and Sciences for various UK examboards thus I am very knowledgeable with different examboard styles and contents.
I have good organisation skills: I always plan and prepare resources to provide the best learning experience for the students. I try to be friendly, patient and become an active listener. Also, I am usually very interactive with students to build their problem-solving skills. I can personalise the teaching style to fit each student’s different learning style and pace of learning. I have tutored students (age 6-18) for 5 years for mainly maths, sciences and piano but I have tutored English before up to GCSE level. I have also helped A level students with their university admission for medicine/science courses + Oxbridge. I did remote teaching during the Covid pandemic thus I am comfortable and knowledgeable at using online platforms and I usually tutor with an iPad as well. I like taking new challenges. I always enjoyed taking new roles during study (such as Course Rep and student quality reviewer) and learning new skills (such as how to use photoshop, procreate and solidworks). Hence I believe I would take on the challenge well with my hardworking and positive attitude. I am also available immediately thus able to start the lesson as soon as possible.

I am an experienced tutor with a PhD in Molecular Biology and a 1st Class Biology degree, both from the University of Nottingham. I am currently employed in a local secondary school where I provide 1:1 and small group GCSE tuition. I also have a full DBS check. I am offering online tutoring to all students - I use screen sharing combined with video chat - you will see the work that we are doing on the screen and I will talk you through everything the same as if I were sat next to you. I am happy to send over any work the day before if you wanted to print it out as well as seeing it on the screen. I have been tutoring maths and science from KS2 through to A-level and have had some fantastic results with students. One of my KS3 students has increased 20% on their latest school tests after just 12 weeks tuition and other students have been complimented on their achievements or moved up a set. My A-level students are doing fantastically, with one having moved from D`s and E`s to B`s.

I completed my secondary science PGCE in 2015. I am a Biology specialist, however, I have good subject knowledge and experience of teaching in all three sciences. I am also highly adaptable. I have taught across key stage 3 and key stage 4, including year 11 groups who I taught physics, chemistry and biology. I have been included in general CPD in schools and also in departmental moderation of marking across GCSE. I have taught at several Sheffield schools including High Storrs, Sheffield Park Academy, Sheffield Springs Academy, Birley Community College, Firth Park Academy and Forge Valley School. I have been tutoring for several years and I teach science, geography and maths GCSE both higher and foundation level. I've taught the content for AQA, Edexcel and OCR exam boards. I also tutor 6th form students in both year 12 and 13 at Biology A Level. I have tutored students through university foundation courses for healthcare and education degree courses. I can also tutor maths and science for university GCSE equivalency exams. Science and maths education is something I have always been passionate about and I try to encourage students to share this passion. It is vital to ensure that all students receive the best education possible and it is my belief that they should receive it in a caring and supportive environment. I refuse to believe that any student cannot succeed in a subject, especially something as versatile and flexible as science and maths, there is always a way to get through to any student. While this is more of a personal belief, I have yet to see anything to the contrary. I have been involved with extra-curricular activities; film club, lunch and break duties, corridor patrols and form activities. I have also received weekly training sessions by specialists in school on teaching both SEN and EAL students and improving my own pedagogy.

I am an enthusiastic fully qualified teacher and enhanced DBS with a genuine passion for my subject and I aim to provide a stimulating learning environment by adopting a variety of teaching approaches. I aspire to motivate my students to achieve the best possible outcomes, regardless of ability, background or SEN status and particularly have experience of stretching and challenging the more able pupils.
I have taught at Queen Elizabeth School, Barnet, ranked as the top state school in the country, for the last 4 years including guiding many Oxbridge physics, natural sciences, medicine and engineering candidates. I have a degree in Automotive Engineering and a PhD in Racecar Aerodynamics both from Loughborough University, where I also taught undergraduate modules in Statics & Dynamics, Fluid Dynamics, Low Speed Aerodynamic, Ground Vehicle Aerodynamics and CAD. Prior to completing my PGCE I was a research engineer developing hydrogen fuel cell technology for a range of clean technology applications.
I have recently moved from London to Nottingham with my family and am available for tutoring of Science (KS3) and Physics (GCSE and A Level) online or in person.

I'm Saranya R., currently doing my masters in chemistry in Nottingham Trent University. Basically I'm a chemistry teacher worked in India in various schools. I have vast experience in handling children in all sorts of ages. Being a teacher , also I can say I'm a mentor, because I can easily read a child's mental health and I used to teach based on their capability. Also, I trained many students to improve their mental ability to become doctors, engineers and so www.*** very proud to be as a teacher, as many of my students still remember me and showing their great respect even now itself. I thought it was the greatest honour for my life time I achieved ever.
