Hi all. I'm Beatrice, I'm from Italy and I come from a musical family. I was involved in singing since the age of 5 and started taking singing lessons at the age of 12. When I was 15, I started teaching kids from 12yo at my brother's music school in Italy. In 2015 I moved to London to continue my music career. Today I'm a qualified vocal coach. I've studied Pop, Rock, Jazz and Contemporary styles at BIMM London and graduated with a first. I works as a backing vocalist and session singer.
The teaching method I use in my lessons is part of the MVT training. It consists in creating a balance between your chest voice, head voice and your mixed, focusing on stretching the vocal folds and removing any body tension. Voice and artistic growth are very vast subjects. The conjunction of several techniques and methods help students unleash their full potential. First approach would be to identify and have a diagnosis in order to create a plan that will help reach your goal.
Lessons can take place in person at her house or online, if agreed. They can be 1 hour or 30 minutes long depending on the experience and level of the student.
I have 2 ways of assessing my students. One is a simple 5 tone scale exercise. Such exercise requires a bigger effort and therefore is very efficient for me to understand the level of the student. The exercise starts from the chest voice and continues past the bridge which is usually where the voice break could happen and continues towards the head/mixed voice. Bridges vary depending on whether it is a man of a woman. This is a good way of understanding students full range and if they struggle anywhere along the way up. After that, I ask you to sing a short song to see if your way of singing is the same as the previous exercise. I prefer to do the song too because most of the time, students execute both tasks very differently. After the assessment, we take a few minutes to discuss what I have heard and then we make a plan towards the final goal we want to achieve together. My second approach includes 2-3 minutes of warm up exercises mixed with technique exercises to help overcome the weaknesses in the voice. The rest of the lesson is spent singing a song we choose. I will also look at breathing technique, vocal effects (cry-twang-creak-growl) and agility which can be improved with a few exercises.

I studied classical vocal technique for 15 years with Howard Milner, and supplemented this with private language training (French and Russian), repertoire coaching with Floral Opera, Summer International Summer Music school (four years) and further training with Jeffrey Talbot and Neil Howlett. I worked as Area Leader for Sing Up in Lincolnshire and am currently the visiting singing teacher for a large secondary academy in Nottingham as well as being a vocal tutor at University of Lincoln. My language teaching is based on the way in which classical languages are taught at Oxford, and I believe in the development both of analytical language skills and an instinct for the art of translation. For GCSE and A-Level, it is important for vocabulary and grammar to be secure, so I encourage a rigorous approach to language, but one that is interesting. I ask for a tutee to try their hardest - as long as they do, they will be met with an enthusiastic, patient, and understanding tutor, a tutor dedicated to his teaching and his pupil. It is vital to tailor sessions to the student, and I customise my lessons for each student I have based on their needs.

My name is Christine Borg. I grew up in a small island where my education led me to a Bachelor’s degree in General Medical Studies. However, the artistic fibre in me eventually took me to London to study Drama and in 2017, I graduated with a Master’s degree from Mountview Academy of Theatre Arts.
I returned to my family and pursued my other life interests: dogs, target shooting, and SCUBA diving amongst other things. I had to earn a living besides trying to put into practice my Acting career. I managed to balance work and getting some experience in Theatre, TV, film, Radio voice overs and singing.
The best balance of work and satisfaction came through teaching but, after Summer 2019 my life brought me back to the UK, where I now live. I took the first good job that came along, solely to earn my living.
However, I want my work be worthwhile besides being my financial income. Satisfaction in my job is of the utmost importance to me, and I believe I can achieve this through teaching.
My qualifications allow me to teach English to students form 3-year-olds to adults, GCSE level Chemistry, Biology and Physics and Science to 8 to 16-year-old students.
As I wish to continue teaching Online, I use all my experience from my TEFL qualifications and Drama school days to improvise and make my lessons as interactive and as interesting as possible. My name is Caitlin A., and I am 22 years old. I am originally from South Africa but spent www.*** years living in Dubai where I completed my secondary school education before moving to England in 2020 to study at university. I have always been very academically driven and received a distinction upon completion of the International General Certificate for Secondary Education (IGCSE) before receiving my high school diploma through the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IBDP). Additionally, I had the opportunity to serve as Head Girl during my senior year. Presently, I am studying Music (Songwriting and Performance) at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts (LIPA) and working as a student ambassador at LIPA as well as doing casual work for their widening participation team such as leading and supporting music workshops or directing a small choir of high school students.
In addition to my experience as a student ambassador and workshop leader in a musical setting, I also worked as an assistant teacher for a kids’ theatre summer camp in Dubai. Although this was a short opportunity, I felt it was extremely beneficial in teaching me responsibility, time-management, and dedication. I also learnt how to effectively work with a team as there were other assistant teachers and an instructor. Through my work as a teacher and supporting workshop leader, I have discovered how to plan lessons that are adapted to a specific age group, experience level, learning style etc. and have gained the skills necessary to not only teach a group of students but also in a more personal one-on-one setting. In addition to the above, I completed a job shadowing internship at a modelling agency where I worked in the digital department. My duties involved researching and writing blogs for the website, and administrative work such as updating excel spreadsheets. Not only did this aid me in developing my creative writing skills but it also helped me understand the work that goes into online marketing and brand development. Furthermore, as part of my IB diploma, I completed multiple volunteering tasks in my community including but not limited to painting a mural at school, starting a welcoming committee, and volunteering at church events ( www.*** , cleaning the church).
In addition to my work as a music workshop leader, English is my first language and has always been a passion for me alongside music. I received third place in the 15-17 age group for the Oxford University Press Story Writing Competition in the UAE in 2017 and received the highest grade possible in GCSE English Language (A*) as well as receiving an A in English Literature. As for my high school diploma, I received a B in English Literature. Thus, I am highly qualified to tutor students in English (creative writing as well as literature and comprehension) in addition to supporting them with homework in the subject. TECHNIQUE
You'll learn vocal technique in an understandable way that can be felt and controlled. I designed a technique course from my own experience after years of study, and teaching 100+ singers. The best knowledge from Estill Voice Training (EVT), Complete Vocal Technique (CVT) and Speech Level Singing (SLS) will be imparted.
You will realise that your whole body is involved in singing and you'll notice the drastic changes that make the proper understanding of larynx movements, breathing, posture, jaw, tongue, among others.
I will always make sure that you sing in a healthy way and never hurt your voice. No doubts will be left unresolved!
STYLE / ARTISTIC DEVELOPMENT
As you develop technique, we can work on defining your voice and musical style. We will improve the timbre and we will work on different stylistic resources and effects such as vibrato. We will identify and enhance the best of your voice, and we will work and develop new skills.
REPERTOIRE AND PERFORMANCE
We will tackle the songs you want to work on and you'll notice a big improvement as we work on them. You'll apply what we have learned and I'll identify problems that arise when singing your chosen music. If you want to record them professionally with quality sound, we will do it with my resources. (I am a professional producer).
ADDITIONAL SKILLS: SONGWRITING, PRODUCTION AND PIANO
Depending on your objectives, we can work on other musical aspects. Many students compose and want to learn more tools and tricks to compose more freely. Others want to accompany themselves on the piano better. I am also an active songwriter and composer, I learned from experts such as Paul Statham (Warner Chapell: Kylie Minogue, Dido). I am also a pianist. I can help you and give you the most practical tools to create music, sing it, and make work. Classes always have the option to add a dedicated piano extension, or songwriting and music theory, or production.
