I have earned my Diploma in Primary Education at the St. Joseph’s Teachers’ College and I have currently completed a Bachelor’s Degree in Primary Education at The Mico University College which has trained me to be an efficient and effective teacher. Neil Simco reminded us that how we are with children will stay with them for the rest of their lives. Each moment that we spend with our children is so important because they can never have that moment again. Everything that I do as a teacher means so much to each and every child that I teach. I know that these children may take something of what I have said, what I have taught them and use it someday, in a way that will truly make a difference to them in their lives.
Progression needs to be planned for, so that as children work and explore at their own pace, there is always something else ready to move them on and take them further in their learning. My teaching techniques are letting my student answer the questions first try and then I go through the questions they felt they were not comfortable with, suggesting other methods they could try to answer the question but making sure they understand it as well.
