I am a qualified Primary School Teacher from Urmston. I left University in 2011 with a First Class BA Honours in Primary Education and have taught in Primary Schools in Trafford ever since. With over 13 years experience teaching in EYFS, KS1, LKS2, I have extensive knowledge of the Primary National Curriculum and end of year expectations. I have taught many children over my career with various educational needs including children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and have a particular strength in being able to adapt my teaching in order to ensure the children in my care thrive with their education. I have a proven track record in the use of effective assessment in order to quickly identify a child’s strengths, diagnose gaps in their understanding and plan for their next steps. I have been privately tutoring Mathematics to students from the ages 10-18 (Secondary School through to A-Levels) over the past four years whilst completing my Master's degree in Mathematics. I take great pride in my work as a tutor, and always make it a priority to make my students feel comfortable that they can ask me any questions at any time during a lesson. Having been on both sides of the small classroom teaching dynamic, I can sympathise with how some students may feel a sense of unease when starting a new class with a new teacher, which can ultimately impact their classroom learning. During my lessons, I like to stress the importance that this is not simply another classroom lesson where I talk and the student should remain quiet, and instead encourage my students to ask me any and all questions they have about the subject. The more they can tell me about their concerns with Mathematics, the more information I have to work with when adapting the lesson to their needs. My preferred teaching style is to look through previous work that a student has completed, and create complete breakdowns to topics/exam question solutions to give the student a step-by-step method that they can use beyond the lesson. After each lesson, I send an email with a document attached that contains all of the information discussed during the lesson, so that they can use the teachings at their own leisure in the future. If I specialise my lessons to each student, then what would be the point of me not sharing the resources afterwards? My working times are quite flexible, as I work from home, so most days from 10:00 - 18:00 work well for me. This is not a strict time window, however, so please feel free to contact me with alternative times outside of these hours, and we can see if we can make it work. Hello! I'm a university senior lecturer, and I've been involved in engineering research and university lecturing for three decades. I've taught UG and PG courses including dynamics, control, electricity, mathematics. Also, aircraft performance and atmospheric fixed- and rotary-wing, and space flight dynamics: yes: rocket engineering (it is not "science"!), which is really interesting, and not as difficult as you might think.)
I've always been passionate about maths, mechanics, and engineering. At the age of 17, I won an open scholarship to read engineering science at Balliol College, Oxford University. I had attended a state grammar school in the midlands; my success there was in no small part due to a number of fantastic, dedicated teachers. I graduated from Oxford with a First. I actually took the Lubbock prize for top graduating mechanical engineer. Later, I earned my doctorate in Electrical Engineering, from Imperial College; my thesis was on robust multivariable control theory. That is to do with designing feedback systems to stabilize and control com plex systems like helicopters and chemical processes.
I've taught and carried out research in academia for thirty years. My main achievements so far have in the design of novel, advanced fly-by-wire control systems for rotary-wing aircraft. I've published papers and presented research world-wide. I was invited, for example, to present findings on helicopter handling qualities to the aeroflightdynamics directorate at NASA Ames and I've delivered advanced industrial training courses to various clients, including a large training package on robust control and flight dynamics to a well known european helicopter manufacturer engaged in a collaboration to develop an unmanned tilt-rotor aircraft.
Recently, I've stated giving some tuition to school students, including French at basic level. I would be very happy to talk to you to see if I might be able to help you with your maths and mechanics.

I am a passionate and experienced teacher that likes and do work with teens very well. I have taught mathematics and chemistry to students who others said cannot do well that ended up excelling in their examinations both internal and external examinations.
I have four years of teaching experience from my various placements throughout the years. I possess a calm demeanor and approachable personality, which makes it easier for children to come and speak to me. Moreover, I am skilled at maintaining boundaries and managing behavior within the classroom. I am a highly organized individual with excellent time management skills. Through my work placements, I have been able to improve my ability to manage my workload and time effectively.
Currently, I am on placement in a year 5 classroom where I am working on a research project focused on enhancing multiplication skills in the school. When I was 16, I attended the Southern Regional College for two years and completed my Level Three Extended Diploma in Early Childhood Studies. As part of my course, I had to do placement every Tuesday and Wednesday, and I worked as a teaching assistant in my old primary school. This experience made me realize that I wanted to become a class teacher and pursue this career further.
In Northern Ireland, I have tutored three children between the ages of 8 and 16. I have worked with children who struggle with dyslexia, dyscalculia, and other learning difficulties. I enjoy tutoring and getting the chance to support children individually.
Outside of school, I enjoy going to the gym and running. I also do Irish dancing, which I have been doing since the age of 6.
