I’ve always enjoyed maths; especially at GCSE level. I have been told in the past by peers/teachers/people that I have tutored that I am good at explaining/teaching content and that I am able to do it in a way that is understandable/easy to recall and remember.
I tutored 4 students in high school during GCSEs. They found that my approach was the best (and better than most adult tutors), which was a 50% taught approach and 50% past paper questions/exam practice. This allowed them to enhance their learning with support and enable them to apply knowledge directly to any question. Using my own personal notes/resources ( www.*** PowerPoints) we will be able to slowly progress and build up knowledge/recall gradually, which deposits it into the long-term memory (perfect for exams).

Hello! I'm a university senior lecturer, and I've been involved in engineering research and university lecturing for three decades. I've taught UG and PG courses including dynamics, control, electricity, mathematics. Also, aircraft performance and atmospheric fixed- and rotary-wing, and space flight dynamics: yes: rocket engineering (it is not "science"!), which is really interesting, and not as difficult as you might think.)
I've always been passionate about maths, mechanics, and engineering. At the age of 17, I won an open scholarship to read engineering science at Balliol College, Oxford University. I had attended a state grammar school in the midlands; my success there was in no small part due to a number of fantastic, dedicated teachers. I graduated from Oxford with a First. I actually took the Lubbock prize for top graduating mechanical engineer. Later, I earned my doctorate in Electrical Engineering, from Imperial College; my thesis was on robust multivariable control theory. That is to do with designing feedback systems to stabilize and control com plex systems like helicopters and chemical processes.
I've taught and carried out research in academia for thirty years. My main achievements so far have in the design of novel, advanced fly-by-wire control systems for rotary-wing aircraft. I've published papers and presented research world-wide. I was invited, for example, to present findings on helicopter handling qualities to the aeroflightdynamics directorate at NASA Ames and I've delivered advanced industrial training courses to various clients, including a large training package on robust control and flight dynamics to a well known european helicopter manufacturer engaged in a collaboration to develop an unmanned tilt-rotor aircraft.
Recently, I've stated giving some tuition to school students, including French at basic level. I would be very happy to talk to you to see if I might be able to help you with your maths and mechanics.

I have worked with several different age groups and supported many children in 1 on 1 interventions. I have good curriculum knowledge and experience working with different SEN.
I have been privately tutoring Mathematics to students from the ages 10-18 (Secondary School through to A-Levels) over the past four years whilst completing my Master's degree in Mathematics. I take great pride in my work as a tutor, and always make it a priority to make my students feel comfortable that they can ask me any questions at any time during a lesson. Having been on both sides of the small classroom teaching dynamic, I can sympathise with how some students may feel a sense of unease when starting a new class with a new teacher, which can ultimately impact their classroom learning. During my lessons, I like to stress the importance that this is not simply another classroom lesson where I talk and the student should remain quiet, and instead encourage my students to ask me any and all questions they have about the subject. The more they can tell me about their concerns with Mathematics, the more information I have to work with when adapting the lesson to their needs. My preferred teaching style is to look through previous work that a student has completed, and create complete breakdowns to topics/exam question solutions to give the student a step-by-step method that they can use beyond the lesson. After each lesson, I send an email with a document attached that contains all of the information discussed during the lesson, so that they can use the teachings at their own leisure in the future. If I specialise my lessons to each student, then what would be the point of me not sharing the resources afterwards? My working times are quite flexible, as I work from home, so most days from 10:00 - 18:00 work well for me. This is not a strict time window, however, so please feel free to contact me with alternative times outside of these hours, and we can see if we can make it work. I have four years of teaching experience from my various placements throughout the years. I possess a calm demeanor and approachable personality, which makes it easier for children to come and speak to me. Moreover, I am skilled at maintaining boundaries and managing behavior within the classroom. I am a highly organized individual with excellent time management skills. Through my work placements, I have been able to improve my ability to manage my workload and time effectively.
Currently, I am on placement in a year 5 classroom where I am working on a research project focused on enhancing multiplication skills in the school. I am also working on a case study with a child who struggles with dyscalculia. During this time, I am taking a closer look at the Maths and SEND curriculum to explore how I can adapt certain areas to better support my project and case study. I find this work very fulfilling as it allows me to contribute to school improvement and work directly with children.
When I was 16, I attended the Southern Regional College for two years and completed my Level Three Extended Diploma in Early Childhood Studies. As part of my course, I had to do placement every Tuesday and Wednesday, and I worked as a teaching assistant in my old primary school. This experience made me realize that I wanted to become a class teacher and pursue this career further.
In Northern Ireland, I have tutored three children between the ages of 8 and 16. I have worked with children who struggle with dyslexia, dyscalculia, and other learning difficulties. I enjoy tutoring and getting the chance to support children individually.
Outside of school, I enjoy going to the gym and running. I also do Irish dancing, which I have been doing since the age of 6. It is something that I really enjoy and it has taught me the value of teamwork andriends. Additionally, it has taught me great resilience and the importance of persevering even when things get tough.
As someone who really disliked school I understand how hard it can be, so I got myself a private online tutor and she really helped especially because she was really down to earth and sympathised with me, I'm hoping to do the same.

At the moment I will only teach online due to the current Covid 19 restrictions, but have tutored in the past at students houses which I hope to resume once lockdown is over.
