Hello and welcome to Mr S. Maths!
I teach solely GCSE Maths. I've been teaching and tutoring Maths now for 10 years!
I own Mr S. Maths and I have a unique way I love to teach and tutor. Here's how it works
Step #1] Pre lesson videos. I record prelesson videos the prepare the students for the lesson. This is to get them up to the standard of our live lesson
Step #2] Weekly live lessons. I teach weekly live classes. I have lessons for foundation, for higher (grades 567) and for higher (grades 789). Each class focuses on a topic of the week going over as many exam questions as we can fit in!
Step #3] Weekly test. You will attempt a 10 mark test following the lesson.
Step #4] You will watch the video walkthrough of the test. This will allow you to mark and correct any mistakes
Step #5] You will log your scores to your personal log (that I provide) and this will now become your revision guide!

We have dedicated staff who are well experienced and trained to teach various year groups. In SLASA, we have a warm and friendly atmosphere to encourage children to learn in a safe environment. All of our courses are personalised to meet the National Curriculum and Curriculum for Excellence.
We pride ourselves with teaching children the most efficient ways of learning and boosting their confidence in their school work. We tailor our teachers according to their subject specialism so that they can teach our students with the best knowledge possible. We have previously helped children with entrance exams into Nottingham High School and other private schools within Nottinghamshire as well as help with SATS, GCSEs and A levels. Our dedicated help has proven to help children with low self-esteem and learning difficulties around other children in order to improve their confidence as a young person. We have many locations all over Nottingham providing home tuition, grouped learning and 1 to 1 sessions according to your needs.

I have over four years of experience tutoring both online and face-to-face. During this time, I have taught piano to children as young as three and worked intensively on exam preparation, including English tests and the ISEE, often with only three months’ notice. I’ve also helped students exceed their grade level in English writing, reading, and comprehension. Additionally, I have worked with children with autism, ADHD, and anxiety, focusing on building trust and creating a fun, engaging learning environment where we can grow together.

L. will encourage learners to be more confident in mathematics, and to develop good professional qualities of curiosity and communication.
Currently, I am employed as a public sector accounting associate. I am now launching L., to share the study techniques that I have acquired for academic success. I am also launching L. to introduce skills to my learners, for them to begin to develop their competitive edge as future professionals. These are the same skills that enabled me to have my first job from the age of 16, secure an internship at one of the UK’s largest banks, and secure a graduate job before I completed my degree.
Each 70 min session will include: - a review of current knowledge (mind mapping what is already known about the subject, or refreshing knowledge through games and quizzes) - developing the learner's understanding of the topic area, and learning new skills - practising exam questions, and techniques - an ending session to develop professional skills. For example, the learner will practise using spreadsheets and document applications to display mathematical work (as expected by universities and the workplace), or the learner will be guided through reflecting on their successes and how to communicate them in writing (in preparation for applications for university, internships and careers).

I am a university trained Maths teacher, who has worked in many local Derby schools. I am currently working at Derby College teaching A-level and Core Maths 3 days a week. I have tutored several GCSE students, who have achieved a passing grade. I am available for lessons throughout the day on a Wednesday and Friday during term time. Tutoring online would be best for me, but I am able to travel up to 5 miles if this is not possible.

I have been teaching since 2006 as a Primary School Teacher and have been very fortunate and lucky to have worked at a range of schools.
I have taught in outstanding schools, that have been satisfactory or required improvement and faith schools. I have taught as a classroom teacher in KS1 and KS2. I have experience of both phonics assessment and SATS experience. The bulk of my career has been teaching in London schools and more recently I have taught in schools in Leicestershire, Derby and Nottingham. In all schools I have worked in, my lessons have been judged ‘good’ or ‘outstanding’.
It has been a valuable teaching experience which has certainly shaped my professional outlook and provided me with a rich insight into what you can achieve with children. This has allowed me to to develop into a passionate, enthusiastic and dedicated teacher. I am able to plan, assess, reflect and adapt my teaching to ensure that all children have a challenging and enjoyable experience and make excellent progress.
Lesson observations of my teaching have highlight how children are enthusiastic, engaged, eager to learn and are confident when attempting tasks. Tasks are differentiated for all abilities and especially the higher ability who need to be stretched continually. I encourage children to become independent by trying their best, keep trying and never give up. I have found children to have become resilient and not afraid of tackling new concepts or new challenges.
I can also provide evidence of children's work to show progression and the impact of my teaching.
If you have any questions please feel free to ask.
