I am an experienced Lecturer and tutor in History. I gained a PhD in History from the University of Birmingham and have worked in the Higher Education sector for over 12 years.
I have experience tutoring pupils at GCSE level and above. I am familiar with the curricula and can help students with all topics and themes covered at these levels. I am engaging and friendly and tailor my teaching to the individual learner's needs. I have won awards for my teaching at University and take great joy in seeing students succeed.
I can help with undetstanding the topics (content and context), how to approach, analyse and evaluate sources, engage with scholarly literature, and how to write convincing and persuasive essays.

I'm Chiara, I'm 23 years old and I aspire to become a Primary school teacher in England. I'm currently studying for my PGCE in Primary education at the University of the West of England.
I have a degree in English and French and am proficient in both languages. I have a IELTS certification that proves my excellent level of English.
I'm a big reader, one of my favorite ways to bond with children is reading to them and entertain conversations about books and their fictional worlds.
I consider myself resourceful and organised, kind and engaging. I love to have my days scheduled so that I can make the most of them.
I have been volunteering as a Scout leader for four years now, working with children aged 8 to 11. During this time I, along with the rest of my staff, set educational goals to focus on throughout the year, planned activities and attended training courses to improve our skills. Education is at the heart of the Scout movement. The time and energy that it took, and the skills I developed have prepared me to undertake this job. I now know how to engage students, identify their strongest abilities and those that need more work, design a program and pursue it and make learning fun. Thanks to my degree in English and French I have a complete understanding of both languages, cultures and literatures. My experiences as a nanny and tutor to primary school aged children have also inspired me to choose this career path.
In conclusion, my experiences working with children have inspired me and given me the skills needed to be a well-organized, nurturing teacher.
