I have been a teacher of English for 3 years - teaching KS3-GCSE. I am familiar with the AQA and Eduqas iGCSE specifications. I have achieved excellent results for GCSE students. I prioritise find gaps, chunking information down and building confidence.
Working in secondary school almost 17 years (local school and overseas) granted me valuable opportunities to teach a variety of courses, including EAL English, Business Studies, Liberal Studies (Humanities), Economics, Geography and Integrated Business. Among the most satisfying experiences for me as a teacher has been instructing student to understand, analyze and practice their knowledge properly and successfully.
Through my teaching thus far, I have found the method of facilitating rather than dictating to be a highly beneficial style of teaching.

I am a well-motivated, highly conscientious English teacher of students aged 9 to adult, including speakers of other languages. I want to inspire my learners to exceed expecations. I firmly believe that the key to excellent teaching and learning is to make the approach ‘student-centred'.
I have taught English Language and Literature in independent and maintained schools for 31 years, preparing students for ISEB Common Entrance, SATs, GCSE and A Level. Additional experience includes teaching English to speakers of other languages, either for general purposes or in preparation for the University of Cambridge Examinations, KET, PET, FCE, CAE and CPE and IELTS. During my career, I have been a Head of Department and SENCO. Until recently, I have been based in schools but now wish to focus on online tutoring, which I believe suit a large number of learners extremely well.
English (ESOL)- I have Cambridge CELTA qualification and also I'm a student of TESOL and Linguistics at Bishop's Grosseteste University in Lincoln.
Turkish (as a second language)- I completed a PTLLS (Preparing to teach in the Life Long Learning Sector) course to be able to teach Turkish.

I have tutored both Maths and English from reception age all the way up to GCSE in maths and Year 6 SATS in English. I tailor my lesson to suit the child and always strive to bring fun to the lessons, as I believe this encourages the children to learn. I have a wealth of experience teaching 1:1 and in groups.
