English Literature Tutor, Teacher
I am a final year History student at Bristol. I have lots of experience working in primary school as well as someone to one tuition. I am confident, enthusiastic and really enjoy teaching looking to become a teacher after I graduate.
I usually teach for around an hour typically to primary school age but I am looking to teach some older years as well. I like to keep the lesson interactive not focusing on the same exercise for too long. I find primary school-age children struggle to focus on the same thing for a long time. However, what I like about tutoring one-to-one or in small groups is that it gives you a lot of space to be flexible depending on who I am teaching.

Hi all, I am a fully qualified English teacher with 10 years experience and now have a few tutoring spaces available from next half term.
I have experience of teaching a wide range of different levels and an excellent track record of obtaining results that students (and their parents!) are proud of, that enables them to progress to the next stage of their educational journey - however that might look for the individual!
I have a wealth of experience and further training in supporting dyslexic students as well as students of a wide ability range up to GCSE level.
I tutor students from KS3 upwards and can tailor tutoring sessions to help support individuals with their specific needs. At GCSE level I have received further training with AQA and am extremely knowledgable regarding the expectations of the exam board for both the English Literature and English Language exams. I have taught many of the Literature set texts to a range of different ability levels and will tailor my teaching style to suit the individual.
If you’d like further information regarding tutoring sessions or have any questions please feel free to contact me.

I have a range of experience with SEND needs and can differentiate my teaching to meet any needs your child may have.
At the moment, I am only offering online tutoring. I am more than happy to be more flexible with my times if needs be.

I have been a qualified teacher since 2009 and taught in a variety of state and private schools in Kent, London, and Surrey. I graduated from the University of Cambridge with a 2:1 in Theology and Religious Studies and was awarded my MA in 2010.
I have worked as a private music (violin and piano) teacher since I was in the sixth form, and, since qualifying as a teacher , have tutored Philosophy, English Literature, and Religious Studies to a variety of students internationally (online) and in person (locally).
I have a baby daughter so cannot curretly offer tuition at my house but have lots of availability online outside of school hours or in school holiday time.
I have an excellent record of helping students to improve their understanding (and grades) in Philosophy/RS and English, and of seeing students through to Grade 8 on Piano and Violin, with Distinction.
My A Levels (all A grades) are in: English Literature (I also received a commendation from the exam board for attaining one of the top five scores in the country); Music; RS; Media Studies; General Studies.
I am a life Fellow of the Westminster Abbey Institute.
I have Grade VIII Distinction (ABRSM) on Violin and Piano.
I passed the National Professional Qualification for Senior Leaders in 2018.
My tutoring style is responsive to the needs of my student(s) but expect to be stretched and challenged!
Whether teaching you English, Music, or Philosophy, we will (in the words of Plato from the "Meno", "share the inquiry together")

I'm now in my fifth year as a newly qualified primary school teacher at the Ridgeway Primary school in Whitely, Reading. I am looking to offer support during these difficult times for parents homeschooling their children and I am doing this free of charge. I have experience and a substantial subject knowledge in grammar, literature and maths at primary level. I am currently working from home and have a high availability.

Hello there,
I am a Spanish and English Graduate from the Russell Group University of Leeds with over 3 years tutoring experience. This began with a mixture of guided reading coaching, teacher shadowing and teaching EFL tutoring in Madrid for two consecutive summers. Here I was entrusted with independently researching and collating my own lesson plans to markedly raise the linguistic level of nine-year-old Alejandro. Within a week, Alejandro could form the second and third conditional clauses in English, a high-level requirement for a student of his age. Personally, this taught me that flexibility is paramount in engaging students and improving their confidence; there is no one-size-fits-all method to tutoring.
I currently provide professional online GCSE tuition in English Literature and Spanish for “Tutortoo”. Although I am accustomed to teaching individual pupils, I am also regularly entrusted to teach large groups of 30+ with the company “Elite Medics”. I am well-versed in Spanish AQA and Edexcel exam structures and mark schemes and am confident in my online communication and engagement. I prioritize student feedback, seeking suggestions and confirmation that tasks are fully understood. In turn, I ensure that I tailor classes around their needs and passions in order to ensure a successful academic output. I also enjoy testing consistently on topics from weeks before, to develop a long term learning method.
Within Spanish, my study placement in ‘La Universidad de Oviedo’ allowed me to grasp the colloquialisms and conversational that textbooks occasionally fail to master. Whilst I will provide you with the expected tools to meet the marking criteria, I also seek to inspire and motivate with the sense of joy and spoken confidence that I gained from my experience abroad. Other formative leadership experiences, such as teacher shadowing and guided-reading coaching, armed me with the skills to effectively communicate with Primary and Secondary school pupils in an assured manner. Through witnessing the linguistic improvements of Alejandro in Madrid and the ongoing development of my current pupil, I am assured that my optimistic attitude, paired with a thorough knowledge of my chosen subjects, facilitates the academic growth of others.
Within English, I am passionate about discovering the inner creativity in my students. Originality of ideas was the key contributor to my recent Dissertation success, as well as my A-Level achievements. I will thus not only hone the pupil’s articulate and engaging writing style but also cultivate confidence in their own instinctual ideas. For this reason, I consistently repeat the mantra that “There is no wrong answer” during my English lessons.
Regards
Ruby

Hello there,
I am a qualified English teacher with extensive successful experience teaching in both state and independent schools. In addition, I am a former School Principal with over 10 years of leadership experience. I have extensive experience in tutoring Key stages two to GCSE level.
Raising the academic attainment of students has been a deep passion and successful achievement - as a former Founding Principal of a school for 4- 16-year-olds, a current practising English teacher, and a tutor. I am currently teaching English on a full-time basis. I have significant experience teaching remotely. In addition, I have extensive experience in marking GCSE English Language and literature papers. Over ten years, 98% of my tutees have entered elite grammar schools (a few students have gained scholarships each year, too). During the last two years, 97% of my English Language tutees have achieved levels 7-9 in GCSE English Language and 96% levels 7-9 in GCSE English Literature.
I am well-resourced in teaching face-to-face or online. An initial consultation with parents and tutee, possibly a view of the school reports, will enable me to gather necessary information about your child. Importantly, the tutorials enable me to obtain first-hand knowledge of your child, enabling me to plan my lessons for the individual.
I look forward to working with you to raise the attainment of your child.
Warm Wishes,
Yasmin

I have been teaching English to 11-19 year olds in Secondary schools for over 10 years; I am currently a middle leader in a local secondary school where I teach the full age range including GCSE and A Level classes. I also have 5 years experience of tutoring; I tend to specialise in GCSE preparation for English Literature and English Language, however I have also tutored Year 6 students prior to their English SATs and KS3 students who are looking to improve specific skills in reading and/or writing in advance of beginning their GCSE courses. I can help with homework, as well as focusing on specific skills or curriculum content. I am very familiar with the CIE IGCSE English Language; the AQA GCSE English Lit and English Lang syllabuses and the AQA English Literature A level syllabus, including the NEA component.
In the current climate I am offering 40 minute teaching sesisons via Zoom. Prior to starting sessions with any new student I offer a free 20 minute consultation to discuss the areas which a student would like to work on and improve in. Consultations can be done via phone or Zoom depending on the family's preference.
I am also able to offer a remote work marking service where I can give constructive feedback and summative grades as well if needed/appropriate (i. e. at GCSE/A level). Please contact me to discuss pricing for this.
