I always take a student-centered approach to teaching by asking students to bring their notes and talk me through the topics they feel are most difficult. I am currently a qualified and experienced Science teacher, teaching GCSE and A-Levels in a top Secondary School in Berkshire. I have graduated with a BSc degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry at Queen Mary University of London, which included an in-depth study of topics such as: Organic Chemistry, Kinetics, Thermodynamics, Quantum Chemistry and Biochemistry. Miss Angelina (as she is known to her pupils) started her ballet training with Molly Wright and Phyllis Adams in Great Yarmouth at the Phyllis Adams School of Dance, where Kenneth Macmillan (Choreographer, Royal Ballet) first started his ballet training. At the age of 6 Angelina gained a place at Merle Park’s School of Ballet (Merle Park was a Director of the Royal Ballet School) in Chiswick.
In 1979, at the age of eight, Angelina was offered a scholarship at the Paris Opera Ballet School. As a petit rat de LOpera (a name give to the young students attending the Opera ballet school) Angelina danced in a number of professional productions including The Sleeping Beauty, choreographed by Rosella Hightower, Le Festin de L’araignee and Movements, choreographed by Claude Bessy, Director of the Paris Opera Ballet School. She also participated in Nureyev’s rehearsals for Romeo and Juliet. Angelina danced for President Mitterand, and one of her most memorable experiences was when she met and danced with Gene Kelly in a tribute to An American in Paris.
When Angelina returned home to England she continued her training at Bush Davies, The Royal Ballet, Upper School TTC and Central School of Ballet.
Angelina danced with the Braunschweig Staatstheater, Germany, and danced in a range of classical and contemporary ballets; she was a member of the corps de ballet and was invited to perform the solo role of Queen of Spades in Jeux de Carte. Repertoire includes Giselle, Nutcracker, Rite of Spring, La Fille Mal Gardee, Bolero and a selection of other classical and contemporary ballets. Angelina first started teaching for Vacani in 1997 and since then has gained a first class honours degree in the Theory and Practice of Dance, and gained Distinctions for both her ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) Imperial and Cecchetti method teaching qualifications. Angelina is currently the ballet director of the Vacani School of Dance in Clapham and Colliers Wood; and Owner/Principal of Canada Water Studios.

I have been producing & directing documentaries for national and international broadcasting. My first documentary – CHOR-POLICE – had several international partners like NHK (Japan), YLE(Finland), PBS(USA), RTSI(Switzerland) and premiered at IDFA(2008). I founded my production company – SÉANCE ENTERTAINMENT – in 2007, with a partner from my film institute. We have been striving to reach the world of films with a touch of our own, aiming for a synergy of passion, dedication and creative application. One of our first projects – FAIRYTALE DREAMS – was broadcast by NHK(Japan).
Recently, SÉANCE pioneered 8K documentary in India, in collaboration with NHK (Japan). We produced a series of 3 films (2019-2022) exploring the visual spectacles of different regions of India – Thar Desert of Rajasthan, Golden Fort of Jaisalmer and lush backwaters of Kerela. And another 3 film series on the cuisine of India (2022-23) – in Lucknow, Kashmir and Bengal.
I was a key member of the Documentary Resource Initiative – a not-for-profit organization promoting creative experimental independent actuality storytelling in India. DRI hosts an internationally acclaimed forum – DocedgeKolkata, Asian Forum for Documentary – where I worked as Head of Incubation & Training nurturing documentary projects through mentoring by international professionals. I was also Director of DRI’s travelling documentary workshop – Documentor, and mentored in the Let’sdoc Fellowship Programme for early-career filmmakers. Another major involvement was in initiating and organising the Dhaka DocLab – first of its kind international documentary forum in Bangladesh (started in 2017).
