Fully PGCE qualified Maths Teacher with over 20 years experience in good and outstanding secondary schools in the UK. Have been curriculum leader of Maths and second in department. I have also taught at primary level and in the past taught students and adults at Walsall College and BMET College. In addition to Maths I have also taught Economics and Physics. I am currently teaching Maths at BMET College to adults and 16-18 yr old students and tutor at smartkids.
My notable achievements include designing a GCSE Maths course for Walsall Colleges VLE (website) in 2014 for all the students to access. I have attained excellent pass rates from past students for example, at Leasowes High all my top set year 8 either achieved their target levels or were above. I have been tutoring for 3 years despite several requests in the past which I turned down (didn’t have the time). A recent student of mine which I tutored attained A* in GCSE Maths and another I taught also attained Level 9 in the same subject. I am also currently tutoring a 6 year old girl who initially struggled with the subject but is now doing really well.

I possess a rich and extensive teaching experience of 4 years in Mathematics. Furthermore, my academic journey showcases exceptional results in my O Levels (GCE - British Council), where I secured 11* As, with exemplary performance in Mathematics, Economics and Additional Mathematics. In my A Levels, I accomplished 4 As, with my expertise evident in Mathematics, Economics and Further Mathematics.

Instead of relying solely on memorization of formulas, I adopt a method that focuses on understanding the derivation of these formulas. This experience has enabled me to do differentiation my lesson plans by giving more individual focus on students. This allows me greater ease in connecting with students and creates more Increased engagement in my lessons. This will then enable me to create a plan in an organized methods for checking and grading assignments.
Education is an essential tool for preparing students to effectively live, work and trade in the global economy. I am passionate and committed about meeting the needs of students and helping them to grow as every child has the potential to succeed. I get great satisfaction in seeing students’ progress by reflecting on their journey from where they first started to where they are now. I understand that the progress for one child will look very different to that of another, and therefore, I identify individual needs with the aim of helping them to achieve their personal targets. I form positive relationships with all students as I understand that this is fundamental in creating a safe and welcoming environment for all leading to success.
I have 10 years experience of working in the educational sector. I have previously been involved with the delivery of student recruitment and outreach projects with young people and in recent years worked with 3 different schools for my PGCE and ECT. This experience has enabled me to develop my subject knowledge in line with the curriculum and enhance my skill-set.

I have been teaching GCSE and A-Level (& BTEC) in Business and Economics since 1996. I am able to support in all elements of all related courses and can focus on any area as required whether that is content, technique or revision driven.
Post A level graduate, achieved 3 A's in A level economics, chemistry and biology. Achieved 4 A*, 5 As and 1 B at GCSE level, including A*A*A in biology, physics, chemistry, and A*AA in English literature, English language and math. Currently on a gap year and an aspiring medical student with a very flexible schedule and a passion for teaching others.
With degrees in Economics, Politics and Business I have taught for the last 30 years at four independent schools, and been a Head of Department in two of these schools. In the distant past I was a researcher at the Institute for Public Policy Research, undertaking work for both Tony Blair and Gordon Brown.
Whilst I am currently a Deputy Headmaster, I remain passionate about the social sciences and the importance of students understanding the underlying concepts beyond the study of Economics and Politics.
My most recent teaching experience is of A Level Economics and Politics. In addition I deliver extension courses to help prepare for applications to Oxbridge and other elite universities, often basing this extension around either University of London Foundation courses or broad reviews of political economy.
