I am a qualified and passionate primary school teacher. I have experience teaching and tutoring across Key Stage 1 and 2. I love teaching, building positive relationships and making learning fun and accessible to everyone. Every child deserves the best start in life. I provide support across all of primary school across subjects as well as specific support in year 6 SATs, phonics, 11+ entrance exams, and SEN support. I tailor sessions to meet the exact needs. I quickly build rapport with pupils and work out gaps in their learning and the best possible way to teach them what they need to know. My pupils range from year 1 pupils who need support with letter formation and phonics to students preparing for their English GCSEs. I love what I do and this motivates my students. They also grow in terms of confidence and independence too!
I work with pupils of all abilities and needs but have particular experience with SEMH children, neurodiverse children and those with literacy difficulties such as dyslexia.

As an ambassador for education and diversity, I am proud to offer over five years of teaching experience, with my pedagogy and teaching being recently recognised by Ofsted as outstanding. During this time, I have been responsible for curriculum leadership and developing stimulating and academically enriching lessons through effective pedagogical practice; supporting a diverse cohort of children from all backgrounds. Furthermore, I have had experience in aligning evidence-based research with pedagogical practice to contribute towards the design and development of Cambridge Assessment International Education’s international curriculum which is taught within schools across 160 countries and 9 regions.
As well as educating young people within education, I have also had experience in training teachers; leading face-to-face CPD training workshops to support teachers by bridging the gap between practice and research and in turn, effectively supporting students both holistically and academically within schools and the wider community. My approach to teaching is to inject the element of creativity and fun. It is imperative that we enjoy the things that we do, including education. I love creating an immersive learning experience which utilises extra-curricular tools to support cognitive, academic and holistic development. For me, as a certified life coach and educator, I believe in creating a safe space where each child can thrive and develop a sense of self-confidence whilst gaining a foundation of skills to support them both in school and out.

As a qualified and experienced teacher and tutor, Ben is organised and makes sure that every lesson is a memorable one. He is able to quickly build rapport with students of all ages and establish their individual learning needs whilst remaining both professional and approachable.
Ben has over five years of experience teaching in English Language, English Literature, and Media Studies at GCSE.
He also can tutor in functional skills (City & Guilds) English and maths from entry 1 to level 2 teaching this qualification from individuals aged 18 to 80.
Ben holds a BA in English Literature and Language from Canterbury Christchurch University and completed his PGCE through the University of Hull.
He has completed numerous amounts of CPD and additional courses in relation to education for example:
- SEND needs and classroom application
- advanced safeguarding
- functional skills in the workplace
- textual analysis in relation to gothic literature
Ben is a calm and passionate teacher who endeavours to push 'relational' teaching, making lessons and tutoring sessions personal and relatable to his students. He ejoys a new challenge and working 1-1 with a learner is an excellent way to improve his practice and make sure that each of his tutees has the best possible chance at succeeding in their GCSEs and beyond.
It is in vain hope that Ben wants to imbue his learners with a lifelong love of both the English language and all forms of literature.
Ben has worked with all age ranges from 11 to 80+ including learners who are particularly challenging.
