I am an enthusiastic and dedicated tutor, currently finishing my Master's Degree in Computational Neuroscience, Cognition & AI at the University of Nottingham. My academic journey, anchored by a Bachelor's degree in Neuroscience, has provided me with a comprehensive understanding of the intricate connections between Neuroscience, Cognition, and Artificial Intelligence, shaping the trajectory of my educational pursuits.
Additionally, I have had the privilege of serving as a tutor to numerous students for over 6 years, facing the challenges inherent in subjects like GCSE Chemistry, Biology, Physics, and Maths, as well as A-Level Chemistry & Biology. Aside from academics, I am an avid reader, keen Badminton player and love to travel! I love to share experiences with students, as it creates a bond with them, and gives them space to be able to feel relaxed, and wanting to contribute themselves during lessons too. This to me, is pivotal in any learning process.

A Level Chemistry Tuition
I was a very successful Head of Department and since retirement I have been giving private lessons to students in Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, either in their own home or from my home in Loscoe, near Heanor and am also available to provide online tuition via WhatsApp to students located anywhere in the world.
I tutor both home educated and school children and am familiar with all the major syllabi, such as Nuffield, Edexcel and AQA.
I tutor Chemistry up to 'A' Level and Science to GCSE / SATs level and I like to make the sessions both enjoyable and challenging, believing that creating a relaxed, fun learning environment aids the learning process.
As part of the chemistry classes I include techniques for achieving good results in your exam, such as revision techniques and the best approach when answering exam questions.
I have taught Chemistry at a large Leicestershire 14-18 School for over 30 years. I have been Head of Chemistry at this school for 20 years. I teach AQA GCSE Chemistry and AQA A-Level Chemistry. I have also taught Nuffield A-Level Chemistry. I have tutored AQA, EDEXCEL, OCR and OCR(Salters) A-Level Chemistry and AQA and OCR GCSE Chemistry. I have tutored students outside of school for 26 years with much success. Many of my A-level students have achieved 100% in A-level Chemistry modules and I have tutored many GCSE students who have achieved 100% in all their GCSE modules for GCSE Chemistry. I am also a Principal Examiner for IGCSE Chemistry. I have marked both Foundation and Higher IGCSE Chemistry papers. I have been an Examiner for Singapore A-level Chemistry. Both these roles have helped me to recognise the difficulties that students have with both GCSE and A-level examination questions and the way to answer them successfully. I use this knowledge to the students advantage in my lessons. I tutor online using Skype, Zoom, Teams and FaceTime which works really well. I have had many students who have gone on to study medicine and other medical degrees. I also write multiple choice GCSE Chemistry questions for an exam board.
My approach is variable depending on the ability of the student and what they are struggling on at the time. However I believe that the practicing of past paper questions is vital for examination success. It is the attention to detail which counts in an examination and I make sure all of my students know everything in the syllabus and have practiced lots of different styles of examination question. I tutor online using Skype, Zoom, Teams and FaceTime usually texting, emailing or messaging students examination practice questions which works really well. At the moment all my tutoring is online. I believe I have a strong educational background. I received 75% first class for biomedical sciences in UCL.
