I have a long and diverse history of teaching and tutoring, spanning various levels and subjects. I have cultivated a deep passion for education and student development. My journey began at the age of 19 when I started private tutoring GCSE subjects (math, physics, chemistry, biology). This continued into my undergraduate engineering studies, where I expanded my tutoring repertoire to include A-level subjects (math, physics, chemistry, English).
Upon graduating, I joined a government organisation in Bangladesh as an engineer. In this role, I was responsible for training programs in automotive and machine tools for engineering apprentices. My move to the UK in 2004 marked a new chapter, where I supported myself through my MSc studies by tutoring GCSE and A-level students in math, physics, and chemistry.
Throughout my professional career in the industry as an engineer, I designed and delivered training programs for apprentices and engineers, covering a broad spectrum of engineering subjects. These included engineering software (CAD, CAM, CAE), engineering math, quality control, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and ERP (enterprise resource planning) software. Concurrently, I continued private tutoring GCSE & A-level students (math, physics, chemistry) and undergraduate students (engineering math, engineering mechanics, fundamentals of mechanical engineering).
During my PhD studies (2016-2020) at the University of Nottingham, I served as a teaching assistant and demonstrator, teaching engineering design and CAD to undergraduates. Following this, my role at Heriot-Watt University (2021-2022) as a Research Associate in Robotics included tutoring and guest lecturing in undergraduate modules such as Introduction to Robotics and Digital Design & Programming.
Currently, I am working as an engineering lecturer. I teach a variety of electro-mechanical BEng modules, including engineering math, smart manufacturing, project management, engineering design, mechanical engineering systems, and renewable energy. Additionally, I supervise and coordinate final-year research projects.
Feedback from three key sources—students, colleagues, and management-led teaching observations—consistently highlights my effectiveness and dedication as a student-centred educator. I am committed to fostering student learning through not only high-quality teaching but also through unwavering support and mentorship. My goal is to inspire and equip students with the knowledge and skills they need to succeed in their academic and professional endeavours.
I have been teaching since 2015 in private & public institutions. As a teacher I have privileged with a lot of respect and honor. I have taught the students belonging to different cast, gender, and religion and socio economic status. I have taught Muslims and Non Muslims, Males and Females, Feudal sons and the poor ones with equity because I don’t believe in disparity. I always appreciated due to excellent result of my students which could be verified by the institutions mentioned in my experience.

I currently work in a secondary school in the West Midlands and have been teaching all 3 disciplines for many years. I am a very experienced teacher with an excellent record of pupil acheivement. I believe that any pupil can do well and make excellent progress if they are taught not only the correct knowledge and content for the exam board but also the skills needed to answer GCSE questions in the exam. I attend exam board hub meetings regularly and keep up to date with any changes and recommendations from previous examinations. This information is crucial to pass on to pupils so that they know what the exam questions are asking and how to create a response which will score maximum marks in their examination. I am very organised and enjoy planning creative activities which ensure maximum progress for pupils.
During my A-Levels, I tutored students from Year 7 to Year 11. I also tutor A-Level Biology. This allowed me to be aware of the latest curriculum of each subject and I understand the importance of this as this is one of the ways to achieve success.
To start with, I use a diagnostic test and then tailor my lessons to suit the students' learning styles. I believe this helps the student to grasp the knowledge quickly and understands it well. I prepare the lesson materials similar to exam-style which is crucial for students to score higher grades. I make quizzes for every lesson to start and end with that tell me about students' prior knowledge as well as what the student has learnt in the lecture so that we can build it up later in revision sessions. Giving out homework to finish in their own time, is another way I use for students to understand the topic well enough.
My aim will be to have an impact on students' lives and change the way they view learning.
Experience and diligence are the key consistencies of a successful teacher, both of which I have taken the effort of acquiring over more than 20years of my high-yielding teaching career.
