Having worked as a tutor for over 5 years, I have a wealth of experience in various exam boards and subjects. I believe lessons should be engaging and interesting for both the student and tutor, in order to facilitate the best learning experience. Normally, I like to use exam-style questions in order to gauge the student’s knowledge and work on their weaker topics, enabling them to answer questions confidently and clearly- gaining higher marks. A lot of students could be excellent at a subject, if they are properly engaged. As someone who is passionate about tutoring and equally wants your child to do well, your child will enjoy their lesson whilst learning key tips to ace their exams. There is no room for lengthy explanations, dull note-taking or constant listening in my lessons. As a child, I remember hating certain subjects because the teacher made the lesson really boring and unengaging. After independent study at A-Level and university, I realised how interesting some topics were and the importance of keeping students interested, which essentially means being interested as a tutor yourself. |
