I have been teaching since 2015 in private & public institutions. As a teacher I have privileged with a lot of respect and honor. I have taught the students belonging to different cast, gender, and religion and socio economic status. I have taught Muslims and Non Muslims, Males and Females, Feudal sons and the poor ones with equity because I don’t believe in disparity. I am an experienced teacher and I have been teaching continuously for 36 years, My career has been in secondary schools and FE colleges including teaching adult students on Access programmes and the Foundation degree programmes. I have also taught combined science to GCSE as well as Physics and Biology. I do online tutoring as well as face to face either one to one or in small groups and students always travel to me. I have tutored many students who have successfully gone on to do Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry , Biomedical courses as well as other related disciplines.
Having worked as a tutor for over 5 years, I have a wealth of experience in various exam boards and subjects. I believe lessons should be engaging and interesting for both the student and tutor, in order to facilitate the best learning experience. Normally, I like to use exam-style questions in order to gauge the student’s knowledge and work on their weaker topics, enabling them to answer questions confidently and clearly- gaining higher marks.
A lot of students could be excellent at a subject, if they are properly engaged. There is no room for lengthy explanations, dull note-taking or constant listening in my lessons.
As a child, I remember hating certain subjects because the teacher made the lesson really boring and unengaging. Upon graduating, I joined a government organisation in Bangladesh as an engineer. In this role, I was responsible for training programs in automotive and machine tools for engineering apprentices. My move to the UK in 2004 marked a new chapter, where I supported myself through my MSc studies by tutoring GCSE and A-level students in math, physics, and chemistry.
Throughout my professional career in the industry as an engineer, I designed and delivered training programs for apprentices and engineers, covering a broad spectrum of engineering subjects. These included engineering software (CAD, CAM, CAE), engineering math, quality control, lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, and ERP (enterprise resource planning) software. Concurrently, I continued private tutoring GCSE & A-level students (math, physics, chemistry) and undergraduate students (engineering math, engineering mechanics, fundamentals of mechanical engineering).
During my PhD studies (2016-2020) at the University of Nottingham, I served as a teaching assistant and demonstrator, teaching engineering design and CAD to undergraduates. Following this, my role at Heriot-Watt University (2021-2022) as a Research Associate in Robotics included tutoring and guest lecturing in undergraduate modules such as Introduction to Robotics and Digital Design & Programming.
Currently, I am working as an engineering lecturer. I teach a variety of electro-mechanical BEng modules, including engineering math, smart manufacturing, project management, engineering design, mechanical engineering systems, and renewable energy. Additionally, I supervise and coordinate final-year research projects.
