I’m a passionate and experienced science and Maths teacher with over 15 years of teaching Maths and Science at KS3 and Science GCSE. I’ve worked as a Head of Science and currently lead as a practitioner and examiner, which gives me a detailed understanding of how to unlock student success across different exam boards. I care deeply about helping young people achieve their goals—whether that’s gaining confidence in class, securing a pass, or reaching for a top grade. My mission is simple: to make science enjoyable, accessible, and something every student can feel proud of mastering.

Rooted in evidence-based strategies, I use tools like retrieval practice, live modelling, word etymology, and vocabulary breakdowns to build understanding in a memorable and meaningful way. Hi, I am currently on a PhD program at the university of Salford where I also work as an academic tutor helping with module delivery and conducting laboratory sessions. As the teaching year is drawing to a close, I have found myself with a lot of free time where I can help use my knowledge andexpertise to help coach you or your children to help get the best possible grade in their exams. I have around 2 years of teaching experience at the University of Salford and have been popular among the students for multiple reasons, key of which being my age and recent experience in Education means I'm familiar with the challenges that studnets are facing at each stage of their education and can help with general guidance outside of the main core course subject aswell. Outside of teaching, I am also a volunteer heling with the restoration and maintainance of old aircraft which are on public display in Liverpool.
I have taught Chemistry to A level for 41 consecutive years and A level Biology for the first 20 years over a long and highly distinguished career in 5 outstanding colleges in the North West of England. I have also been Head of Science and Head of Sixth form and have managed teams of teachers. I have had responsibility for course delivery planning development and assessment throughout my career and produce many high class quality teaching and learning resources. I use modern methods of retrieval practice, scaffolded learning and algorithms to help my learners deal with the complexity and difficulty of A level Chemistry. My passion is teaching and learning and to assist my learners at all times.

I have a BSc and PhD in Chemistry, and have taught Science in schools for nearly 20 years, specialising in Chemistry up to A-level. I have taught in secondary schools, and in adult learning environments over this period, in the UK and abroad. Whilst working in a private laboratory, I delivered and assessed Science A-level Practical Endorsement courses, catering for home-schooled students and adult learners who do not have access to school laboratories. I am also an examiner for A-level Chemistry.
