Hello, my name is Steve www.*** I have just finished year 11 (although I didn't write the exams due to the pandemic), I am specialising in GCSE biology and chemistry AQA as these are the subjects in which I was able to consistently achieve grade 8s and 9s. I believe that I have learnt a fair bit of tips and tricks to master the GCSE biology and chemistry exams and know that by passing on this knowledge to current year 10s and 11s I will be able to ensure that they get the grade which they strive for and deserve, giving them an edge over every other pupil.
Moreover, the fact that I too was a GCSE student only 4 months ago means that I will be able to relate to the common emotions and struggles which the majority of students face within the 2 stressful years, and therefore will be able to give advice which perhaps an adult tutor cannot provide, both emotionally and academically. Furthermore, I am aware of the mistakes that I and many others were prone to make during the 2 years, and by choosing me you will be assured that your child will be clear of these vital mistakes, allowing them to use their time more productively, thus boosting their grade higher as well as standing out from the crowd. I will make sure to pass on the tips that I personally used to achieve consistent grade 8s and 9s and highlight the areas which most students fail to acknowledge, giving your child the edge over everyone else!
Please contact me if you have any other enquiries or to discuss pricing.
Stay safe.😀

Teaching science in schools can be exciting and stimulating. Children respond well in practicals and stimulating an exploratory nature of the subject, everyday science makes students feel that each lesson holds something new and valuable to life. There are a. Variety of strategies adopted by teachers to provide a range of learning activities. it is important to adhere to the National Curriculum to ensure that all students in a class have reached a level of understanding and are ready to move on to the next stage. Children may observe and record similarities and differences in topics covered.
Most of the instructions should be student led and this will dictate the questions posed by the teaching staff. Pictures, models and videos go on to reinforce the core concepts.
often a profitable combination of practical activities, models and analogies reading, drawing, group discussions all go on to achieve the teachers objectives.
I firmly believe that science investigations, illustrative activities and researching secondary sources of information promote deeper understanding and exchange of ideas in various forms.

I’m Justin, a 22 year old Chemistry student at Durham University. I am looking to tutor in French (my native language) and Chemistry. I thoroughly enjoy tutoring and have prior experience with my brother and fellow classmates during my A-levels. My main focus for French at GCSE/A-Level will be working on the curriculum, focusing on any needs or questions my tutees may have. I am willing to practice speaking, reading, listening, grammar or help with homework. For degree learners, I am willing to do the same, with more focus on practising discussion and focusing on more detailed grammar present in the degree. For adult learners at beginner/average level, there would be less focus on academic/curriculum aspects and more on French that can be applied in day to day scenarios or in a specific context the tutee may need, with specific focus on basic phrases and sayings for beginner tutees.
For chemistry lessons, I am willing to tutor GCSE/A-Level (or earlier) and would again focus on exam preparation and curriculum, while also ensuring tutees stay motivated and enjoy studying what can be both daunting and frustrating subjects.

I am a qualified Chemist with more than 10 years of teaching experience. I am currently holding a full time teaching position where I mainly teach A-level Chemistry to both UK and International students. My teaching experience stretches across a wide range of age groups starting from KS3 students in Year 7 to young adults with various religions, nationalities and socio-economic backgrounds. After educating students with diverse ability spectrum, I gained deep understanding of the way students behave and learn at different stages of their life and the strategies needed to motivate them. Although my current role is to plan and facilitate A-Level Chemistry curriculum, I have taught general Science at KS3, Biology and Physics up to GCSE level and Biochemistry up to Foundation Degree in the past. During my sabbatical leave, I taught KS3 general Science, IGCSE Chemistry and International A-level Chemistry in Spain. I have continued to teach IGCSE as a private tutor during lockdown where I gained a sound knowledge of IGCSE Chemistry syllabus. Employment opportunities at different institutions facilitated me to develop student centred teaching strategies through a variety of activities and assessment methods to accommodate students’ needs. I try out different strategies to effectively manage differentiation and challenging behaviours and I enjoy the rewards gained.

Quite simply, we are passionate about our literacy, numeracy & science programmes. We make sure we have courses that are suitable for pupils just starting school in KS1 up to pupils preparing to sit their GCSEs and beyond. And whilst there is no single reason why our pupils and parents get to know us as a trusted partner in education, our surveys and research suggest some of these important factors: Teaching Excellence Having experienced and inspiring teachers who are passionate about their work is at the heart of all that we do. Unlike many supplementary education providers, all our teachers are fully qualified and have a track record of delivering engaging lessons and getting the best out of pupils. Small Class Sizes Whereas mainstream schools will have as many as 30 pupils in a class, our absolute maximum is a 1:6 student/teacher ratio. This means that pupils are able to benefit from group work and develop communication skills, but also receive far more individual attention in each lesson. This means that our teachers are quick to discover when a pupil isn’t grasping a concept so they can be supported further. At the same time, it means pupils who have grasped their work are not able to ‘coast’ and can be stretched further. Accredited Testing Our supplementary school teachers do not get much time with pupils, so we work hard to make sure all that time is spent as productively as possible. All pupils joining our programmes sit accredited literacy and numeracy tests which highlight the areas where each pupil is strong and where they are weaker. With this information, our teachers can work with parents to develop schemes of work and homework which strengthens weaker areas and encourages the quickest progress. Pupil Focus We realise that the last thing most kids want to do when they get out of school is attend another school! This is why we engage with all of our pupils to make sure the atmosphere of learning is different to school. This can involve more activity-based learning where pupils use their creativity to support their academic learning, and equally, it can involve creating a more peaceful space for pupils to think outside the hectic rush of everyday school. Online Learning Tools We use online learning tools to aid both teachings in class and as homework. These interactive tools are effective for all ages and break learning up into chunks so pupils can work on the areas they need. The tools are also used by teachers in setting homework so they can make sure pupils spend time on weaker subjects between lessons. Involving Parents Above mainstream schools and any service Alpha provides, we know that parents are the single most important factor in any pupil’s education. This is why we try to engage with parents at all stages of a pupil’s time with us. After the initial assessment, our teachers sit down with parents to discuss results and ways the pupil can make progress. Then throughout each term, pupils receive a weekly report card giving feedback on progress and highlighting any issues, before an end of term report to demonstrate overall development. We also aim to make our branches as open and friendly as possible so any issue of a pupil’s education can be discussed with teachers each week. Competitive Prices We work hard to make sure our prices are as low as possible. Most of our fees go directly to paying the teachers and providing learning resources so that parents get real value for money. We realise that paying for a year of extra tuition is a lot of money, so please do get in contact with us to discuss payment options.

At F. we provide tailored support based on individual student needs which is delivered on a one-to-one basis within one of our virtual learning centres.
Our programmes, with links to the National Curriculum, often result in improvements across the board and not just in the subject studied. Help is always available for external exams and assessments such as SATs and GCSEs. We will tailor your child's programme around their individual needs and linked to the exam specification they are studying. Students can also bring homework in to the centre from school related to the subject(s) they are studying with us.
Students are welcomed at the centre at any time between the 2 hours stated and the time spent in the centre is flexible. A member of staff will be allocated to sit down with your child on a one-to-one basis to go through the topic scheduled each session and will also encourage your child to do some work independently after they have completed some tasks together.
New learning is introduced alongside what is already familiar, so that students feel safe and can see the progress they have made. Progress is in small achievable steps so that children constantly experience success. Through studying with FCL students develop self-learning skills. This is where they have the right skills set and confidence in themselves to approach something new and attempt it without assistance. Just as importantly, they see an error as a learning opportunity and not a sign of failure.
The service that we offer is very similar to that of home tutoring except, of course, students come to us as opposed to being within their home and because of this we are able to keep the fees lower.
The monthly tuition fee includes attendance at the centre every week and a programme of daily homework (if you would like it) for your child to practise skills between sessions. The homework we provide is a continuation of the work your child completes with us within the Centre. That said, we have many students who don't take homework. It is flexible and we can discuss what's best based on your child's circumstances.
The structured programme we provide produces learning patterns in the brain which ensures skills and facts become lodged in the long-term memory. Your child will develop increased speed, accuracy, concentration and particularly confidence.
If our service sounds of interest to you, please get in touch and schedule a free, no obligation assessment.
