I am a qualified Chemist with more than 10 years of teaching experience. I am currently holding a full time teaching position where I mainly teach A-level Chemistry to both UK and International students. My teaching experience stretches across a wide range of age groups starting from KS3 students in Year 7 to young adults with various religions, nationalities and socio-economic backgrounds. After educating students with diverse ability spectrum, I gained deep understanding of the way students behave and learn at different stages of their life and the strategies needed to motivate them. Although my current role is to plan and facilitate A-Level Chemistry curriculum, I have taught general Science at KS3, Biology and Physics up to GCSE level and Biochemistry up to Foundation Degree in the past. During my sabbatical leave, I taught KS3 general Science, IGCSE Chemistry and International A-level Chemistry in Spain. I have continued to teach IGCSE as a private tutor during lockdown where I gained a sound knowledge of IGCSE Chemistry syllabus. Employment opportunities at different institutions facilitated me to develop student centred teaching strategies through a variety of activities and assessment methods to accommodate students’ needs. I try out different strategies to effectively manage differentiation and challenging behaviours and I enjoy the rewards gained. |
