My name is Rachael and I am a qualified Business Studies teacher and Head of Business Studies in an Outstanding London secondary school. I am also an A-Level AQA examiner which means I have very good knowledge of exam technique and what is required to achieve high grades.
I have experience teaching pupils with a range of abilities and will ensure all tutoring sessions are tailored to individual pupils needs. I have created a wide range of resources that I will share with pupils during sessions which will help pupils to progress in the subject.
I have just become available from February 2024 to give tutoring to A-Level, BTEC and GCSE pupils.

I’m a passionate and enthusiastic A Level and GCSE Business and Accounting teacher (Subject Leader) with over 10 years’ experience teaching in variety of secondary school settings with a variety of student needs. I have a BA in Business Management and a PGCE in business and economics education from the Institute of Education (IOE) I am also a GCSE and A Level business examiner and can provide insights into what examiners (like me!) look for in responses to help each student get the best possible mark they can. I can also provide additional, differentiated materials for each lesson based on each student’s strengths and weaknesses within the subject. My teaching style has two ‘wings’ to it - one that helps to build confidence through knowledge acquisition (the foundation) and the second, exam excellence strategies around assessment objectives. Having the right balance between each of these two ‘wings’ will help the student ‘fly’ and reach their goal!

- I deliver lectures; run conversations, perform on-going verification of students' newly acquired knowledge and topic understanding
- Prepare materials for the lectures: on-line videos, presentation, reading material, exercises, problems
- I do students' register (keep attendance)
- I motivate students by showing them their life goal options
- I motivate students by showing how interesting the innovation and entrepreneurial business can be, especially in the digital era world
- I do EEA sessions - I cover other teachers if needed
- I participate in Teacher's meetings
- I use MS Teams for communication with students and teachers
- I prepare clarification of exam requirements and explain Assignment Briefs
- I verify student's assignments and I mark them, I do it in group and individual sessions
- I do individual consulting on students' work gaps to bridge (coaching)
- I am an invigilator for (mock) exams
- I actively do participate in student's assessment www.*** I make notices on students’ behaviour and class attendance on ProMonitor IT system; I report these to Business management teams/ Head
- Constant contact with Business team Managers on all these above
- I am an IV (Internal Verifier) if needed.

Have been teaching for seventeen years in both the state and independent sectors, currently Head of department at a small independent school in Hertfordshire. I ran a successful clothing company whilst teaching. This featured regularly on TV shows and I use it to teach maths and business. This engages students.
I am a Head of faculty and I have taught various students for a number of years and my ultimate priority is to ensure that students maximise there potential in there exams.
