I have fifteen years' experience of teaching KS3 and GCSE Art and Design and currently work at an outstanding Catholic school. I have also more recently helped prepare students taking Italian GCSE as a native Italian speaker. I have worked with architects and as Graphic Designer for a number of years before becoming a teacher. I have experience in teaching one to one, small groups and up to 30 students in a class room setting.
I am a Central Saint Martins MA Fine Art graduate, with a BA in classical painting techniques awarded by the University of Arts in Bucharest, and have more than five years experience in teaching art to all ages (including very young students). I have been collaborating on artistic educational projects with the National Gallery and Watermans Arts Center and with various schools and cultural institutes in London. I have a track record of helping students achieve their highest potential in mastering various fine art techniques and being admitted at top art and architecture universities or obtaining excellent results in GCSE, A-level exams and Art Scholarship examinations. I also have a personal method that helps adult learners that are beginners in painting and drawing techniques get excellent artistic skills and discover a personal, expressive style. As an artist, I have experience in classical painting techniques as well as contemporary art (such as installation art, conceptual or participatory art projects) and I strongly believe in the unique creative potential of each individual, which I hope my art classes also help uncover. I currently teach fine art classes for ages 4 to adult learners at London School of Arts and collaborate on educational projects with galleries, as well as following my own artistic practice. My art projects sometimes blur the lines between the artistic and the educational fields, and I consider teaching a form of art. I have, therefore, a very personal approach to teaching and often collaborate artistically with my students.

As a seasoned artist and architectural graduate, I have actively participated in diverse creative workshops, refining my expertise in materials, construction, and equipment. My six-year architecture bachelor's degree was marked by practical experiences in material laboratories and impactful site visits, fostering interactions with local artisans. A standout experience includes the exploration of Athamkudi in southern India, delving into the creation of vibrant handmade clay tiles with artisans. Noteworthy workshops, like the Auroville mud wall construction technique in 2011 and 2014, have enriched my practical skills. Now pursuing my master's in London, I am eager to bring this wealth of experience to the role of a teching assistant. Central Saint Martins, renowned for its reputation and diverse facilities, has exposed me to a spectrum of artistic mediums, from painting and sculpture to printmaking, robotics, and fashion. With a passion for extending my practice into varied mediums, including animation, I am excited about contributing to the dynamic learning/interactive environment of the learner platform.
EMPLOYMENT HISTORY AND EXPERIENCE
At Unidraw FBS Pvt. Ltd. as an associate Architect, my responsibilities included reviewing detailed drawings prepared by draftsmen, providing design sketches, and conceptual diagrams for the development of architectural drawings. Additionally, I spearheaded the execution of interior design for various commercial projects, overseeing the custom production of decor items in metal and wood workshops to achieve desired aesthetic qualities. Simultaneously, I engaged in freelance art projects, organizing teams for painting endeavors that successfully completed three commercial projects in and around the city.
At Loyal Building Contracting, Dubai, as a design architect, I not only executed the design aspects of projects but also effectively communicated and presented ideas and drawings to clients and managers. Additionally, I took on the responsibility of site supervision for a project that required meticulous detailing in the interior.
At formexx Consultants, as a junior architect fresh out of university, I enjoyed the creative freedom to design independently. Collaborating with fellow graduates, I actively contributed to the completion of various residential projects. My responsibilities included preparing sketches and physical models of buildings in coordination with the team.
GAPS IN EMPLOYMENT HISTORY
I maintained continuous employment without extended breaks, but I did take a deliberate break from extended duties for about six months. From August 2022 to January 2023, I worked in the evenings for three hours daily to focus on building my academic portfolio and preparing for the fine art master's application. While my art practice had sufficient content, I dedicated this time to create abstract expressionist paintings to strengthen my application. Despite compromised work hours (18:00 to 21:00), I ensured the smooth progress of architectural projects during this period.
INTERESTS AND HOBBIES
I am an avid space enthusiast, delving into documentaries and imaginative ponderings about outer worlds. I designed a Mars colonization settlement for a NASA competition, reflecting my broader perspective on life. Alongside my daily creative pursuits, I explore history, especially ancient architecture. My daughter is named Cairo after the Egyptian wonders. Tennis is another passion; I competed at the university level in 2013. Beyond these, my attention to detail and commitment to quality make me an asset. I believe I can significantly contribute to students' artistic projects by ensuring meticulous outcomes.
SUITABILITY
My journey is deeply rooted in my mother's commitment to education in a remote South Indian village. As the child of a dedicated government school teacher, I imbibed the values of giving and understanding. During high school, I regularly taught art to my mother's grade 4 students, learning to encourage even the most uninterested child.
In recent years, I gave guest lectures at an architecture school, handling first-year basic design studios. Though not full-time, the experience affirmed my love for guiding young minds. Raised amidst my mother's care for my siblings, I strongly connect with nurturing younger generations.
The role of a teaching assistant is not just a convergence of my learner background; it resonates with my passion for supporting students in finding their passion and career goals. Despite limited library teaching experience, I am confident in my ability to contribute significantly, leveraging my quick learning and dedication to grow alongside the students.
