Hi! Welcome to my page!
Who am I? My name is Devinder and I'm an online tutor. I love teaching and I hope you will be interested in the academic services I have to offer. My 5-star reviews can be read here: https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100069584765662&sk=reviews HOW WOULD I BENEFIT AS A STUDENT? If you are a parent or carer, then your children can benefit from private lessons in English (up to KS2), Maths (up to GCSE), Science (GCSE), Verbal Reasoning and Non-Verbal Reasoning. This way of learning would not only boost their confidence but also increase their results in 11+ entrance, SATs and GCSEs placing them ahead of their peers. Past pupils sitting their entrance exams have gone on to apply to their chosen schools and university with proven results. Students would have access to vast resources including a catalogue of at least 200 books full of techniques and past papers to help support and boost their education. Learners are offered a personalised tuition plan catered to their individual needs, goals and learning styles. Learners can expect to have their knowledge gaps identified and appropriate resources selected to help them close those specific gaps, in a caring yet challenging manner. Tuition is not a side hustle for me, it's my main vocation. Not only does that mean more attention for your child but also availability during daytime through school holidays or if you are based overseas. WHAT CAN I EXPECT FROM YOUR LESSONS With +10,000 hours teaching experience, you can expect a lot. Firstly, there is a free consultation so you can assess whether we make a good fit. All lessons are prepared in advance to make the best use of tuition time. Curriculum-aligned material is taught, learners’ understanding is checked systematically, misconceptions identified accurately and clear and direct feedback is provided. In doing so, knowledge gaps are identified and content repeated to plug gaps where appropriate and embed learning. Common errors are shared to help student prevent making them in their practice and in their exams. I use a collaborative, interactive, online whiteboard which is free and simple for my students to use: no holding aloft shaky notepads aimed at the webcam. This allows me to watch and check students' understanding in real time. Unlike other tutors, I do not use Zoom/Google Meet or Teams. I subscribe to a special educator platform which has been rated 5-star by its users. Using the `I Do, You Do, We Do` model, students are told what they need to know and how to do it, then we work on a task together to help student become more confident with new learning and finally student individually uses what they have been shown to demonstrate proficiency using practice questions or repeating back to me what they have learned. EXAM PREPARATION STRATEGY Construct a solid foundation of knowledge Exam technique tips Practice (practice practice!) past papers in the weeks/months preceding exam SKILLS OFFERED Excellent, deep subject area knowledge of curricula Strong ability to explain concepts in clear and simple terms Engagement with students of assorted abilities and backgrounds QUALIFICATIONS I hold a Bsc (Hons) Biochemistry from a Russell Group University and a PgDip Analytical Chemistry. I spent the first two years of my university programme studying maths. I'm DBS checked and my qualifications and certificates are available for inspection.

I enjoy working creatively with children and I am aware of the different mind friendly learning techniques that can be used to facilitate effective learning. I incorporate these techniques into my lessons. I believe that children need a firm foundation in basic literacy and numeracy skills in order to be able to flourish in other areas of the curriculum. I understand that continuity and progression in learning is vital and my planning and teaching reflect this.

I have completed my law degree from the University of Southampton and have completed my masters in law.
My previous tutoring experience includes teaching students from ages 8 to 16 in Maths, English Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning.
As a part of my role I am willing to create teaching materials to condense information for my students and to provide them with worksheets to further their learning. Alternatively, should it help them for me to aid them with their homework and current schoolwork I would be happy to do that with them instead.
My ultimate rule is that I would want my students to look forward to their tutoring sessions and to end each session content in the belief that they have learnt something and I am willing to do whatever necessary to make this possible.

Mathematics, English, French and Romanian for any age. And all the support you need in primary school to be more confident and develop your skills and learning techniques. I can work simultaneously with siblings of different ages. School is fun at home!!!
For over twenty years I was an English/French teacher to students between the ages of 3 to 19.
I also have over thirty years of experience in teaching English, French, Romanian, Mathematics and Physics in private. The objectives varied from reaching higher level of achievement (facilitating the admission to elite schools, higher educational programs or award of scholarships) to getting better school results, feeling more confident, developping academic and social skills.
For five years I had a successful afterschool program with children of ages between 3 and 12. I supported them to do their homework, taught drama, English, French and German, we did a lot of crafts and art activities, cooking, writing and creative playing.

Making learning accessible, engaging and relevant is, in my opinion, fundamental to the success and the development of every child, supporting academic achievement and the nurturing of fully rounded individuals to be all they can be. For this to happen, I believe that our curriculum needs to be a relevant and rewarding experience; adapted to ensure inclusion and providing the opportunity to develop academically and personally while experiencing success and challenge on a day-to-day basis. It allows pupils to develop their confidence, self-esteem, organisation, and determination which they can transfer into other aspects of their lives. It is from this desire to do well and lead healthy lifestyles that further success can follow.
I have always had a passion for PE as a subject with many different aspects and opportunities for the wide range of children in the school to be challenged and to feel success. This has led me to opportunities to work beyond the school, something I think is crucial in order to reflect deeply on all aspects of teaching, learning and school leadership as well as to provide varied experiences for our children.
Throughout my career, I have valued strong pastoral systems in schools; I have experience at guiding pupils through the peaks and troughs that school life can afford. Key to this support is good communication - between school and parents/guardians, between different staff members and, where appropriate, with outside agencies. Ultimately, I want to ensure that every child has a successful educational experience in my class and throughout the school.

With previous experience in tutoring and teaching, each lesson will be different tailored to the needs and focuses of the individual. They will include a range of learning techniques, activities and questions. From personal experience I know no two people learn in the same way therefore I am very adaptable to teaching in several different ways to ensure success for each pupil.
Each lesson can consist of 1 hour or 2 hours. Before each lesson, I will prepare materials based on focuses discussed. During the lesson, we will start with a quiz to obtain the current level of understanding and knowledge, moving onto some teaching of concepts and theory. Then we will focus on some understanding and practice questions. Ending with another quiz and discussions of next lesson's focus as well as feedback to pupil and parents if desired.
I have previously done 11+ tutoring, volunteering to help children's reading skills, babysitting and working in a nursery. All those experiences have helped me obtain some valuable skills of understanding the process of learning and different learning techniques as well as the approach to teaching children. Organisation is also a key skill I have which will definitely be helpful in the role as a tutor. I have a genuine passion for helping children learn and be successful as I personally understand no two children learn the same and there need to be more varied approaches in teaching.

I love learning and, equally, to inspire this feeling in others too. I also strongly believe that social development and creativity are as important as academic learning. If you are reading this, you must be considering getting help with learning of some sort, whether for you or for someone close to you. It would be a privilege to help!
I worked as a primary school teacher for 14 years and loved sharing the learning journey with the young people I taught. My approach is often playful – there is so much to be learnt using games and humour – and success relies on building relationships, agreeing goals and together working out how to reach them. Sometimes the goal might just be to travel forwards and enjoy the journey; at other times there may be a more specific target.
The best moments as a teacher are “the lightbulb moments” when something clicks in the learning and new connections are made. My goal is always to instil self-confidence in learners, to build positively on what they already know and can do, and to help them to believe that they can learn whatever they want to learn.
I am a qualified and experienced teacher. Although I have worked in secondary/ middle schools, the majority of my teaching has been in primary schools. I have worked in mainstream schools with a wide range of children. I have coordinated enrichment programmes for gifted and talented pupils. I have supported pupils preparing for grammar school exams. I have written and managed education plans for learners with dyslexia and dyscalculia, autistic spectrum conditions and other social, emotional and mental health difficulties.
As a class teacher, I taught across the spectrum of the National Curriculum, with particular focus on progress in Reading, Writing and Maths. As the school coordinator for the teaching and learning of English for many years, I rolled out various strategies to develop reading for pleasure and to make the learning of grammar and spelling fun, fun, fun! Prior to that, I enjoyed roles as the school lead on Science, History and DT. However, my guilty pleasure is a love of numbers, the application of Maths, in games and puzzles, and the Art of Maths.
I am a parent, the most important job/ experience in the whole world.
Prior to teaching, I was an architect. More recently, I have established myself as an artist, specialising in the publication of greeting cards and fine art prints.

I have a lot of experience tutoring across various subject areas, from piano to GCSE sciences. I have adapted my lessons to suit various age groups perfectly and by doing this, I have developed many skills in communicating to a range of people with different levels of understanding clearly and concisely to get information across and help them in the best way possible, using a unique and individual approach to make them feel at ease and have the most positive experience they can.
I strive to make learning fun but also get the most I can out of the kids and unleash their full potential. I use many active learning techniques including active recall, spaced repetition, making mind links and so on. This is what I used in my exams and I was able to pass with flying colours. I would love to help your kids do the same!

Learning isn't prescriptive; no one is stuck with just a 'Maths Brain' or an 'English Brain' - it's the way you learn these subjects that allows you to love them and truly excel. Through my individually tailored, engaging lessons, I've been able to help my students to really thrive, even in subjects they thought weren't 'for them'!
For two and a half years, I worked as a tutor and classroom assistant at my local tuition centre, teaching both English and Maths from children at a wide range of abilities, aged from 4-16. This experience taught me the importance of tailoring learning for each individual student. Large groups can often mean that some students get left behind; everyone learns at a different pace, favouring different methods. I've found that 1-1 tuition is the perfect solution, giving students more time to ask questions and truly understand a concept before moving on to the next.
For the last year, I have been offering online tuition and have taught a range of students from all age groups and ability levels in both English and Maths to great success! I have recently coached several students through their GCSE English exams and they made great improvements during their lessons with me. Additionally, I have great experience in all areas of the 11+ course, including the more unknown Verbal & Non-Verbal Reasoning sections of the exam. I am also currently supporting some younger children in their English, Reading & Writing skills to really boost their confidence and creativity with language. I offer assistance in all areas of the Oxbridge Application process for English, from the ELAT, personal statement and interview to general advice about the university experience!
I am a passionate about making learning a fun and engaging process for my students - as one myself not so long ago, I know what methods work and which ones don't! Not every child learns in the same way and I believe that as a tutor it is my duty to tailor lessons to each student's individual learning style. When a student is taught in a style that suits them, the progress really starts to begin! I like to offer very interactive lessons, with heavy focused placed on discussion and developing ideas alongside either planning or writing in real time to really help my students through every aspect of the learning process.
I offer lessons to students of all ages and abilities - from KS1 and KS2 level at primary school, to specific tailoring for 8+ and 11+ entrance exams, to the greater challenges of GCSE and A Levels, all the way to University or Oxbridge Admissions.
If you think I'd be a good fit to help your child foster a real love for learning, feel free to drop me a message and I would love to get in touch!

I am an enthusiastic and patient tutor, and have had previous experience tutoring 11+, as well as ancient languages. I have taught 11+ English, Maths, Verbal and Non-verbal reasoning for both the CSSE and CEM exam boards.
As someone who learned both Latin and Ancient Greek ab initio as part of my university degree and is now proficient in both, I feel I am able to confidently teach the skills that enabled me to learn these languages to students of any but the most advanced level. Due to COVID-19, all lessons will be taught online via Skype.
I am able to provide full-length lessons teaching material for the first time (11+, Latin and Ancient Greek only), as well as mark work, provide feedback on essays, and work through past exam papers (particularly relevant for 11+).
