I hold exceptional skills of presentation, organisation, time management, classroom management, making lesson plans, assessing learner progress as they are the pillars of high potential for a teacher/tutor/language trainer. I also have mastered the approach of inductive teaching which is stupendously helpful for language learners to grab the language content with minimal difficulties. The teaching experience of more than four years (of both in Sri Lanka and here in the UK) have helped my teaching career to enhance my potential and uplift my career with more duties, experiences, responsibilities and newer educational working systems. In my scope of teaching experience, I have witnessed dense formalities of equality and diversity where I have taught learners from different social and economic backgrounds when I was a teacher in Sri Lanka. Also, I have managed to effectively and efficiently establish a well-controlled and well –resourced classrooms with mixed-ability groups of learners. My teaching skills also excel in managing a quality classroom equipped with proper resources, good time management, wider audibility, effective and clear instructions and monitoring , facilitating a good classroom setting . In my teaching experience in the UK, I have had the privilege of tutoring learners hailing from different nationalities where cultural diversity was an inevitable factor to infuse in a lesson plan. Also, I have manifested employability as a vital topic to be explored in the delivery of each of my lessons. I have also participated in training programs for the inclusion of the themes like Prevention and Safeguarding, Health and Safety, Employability, Transport, Personal Development and British Values. I have successfully taken measures to thematise these topics in my lessons. Also, I have taken effective time to explore these themes to support the well-being of the learners whilst they are learning the language. My whole teaching career also embeds with quintessential training on classroom management, writing lesson plans, workshops on activity-based teaching and using the appropriate resources. I have strong skills in demonstrating, monitoring, presentation, preparing lesson plans, assessing learner progress, compiling class profiles and writing learner reviews. The academic qualifications that I have ascertained have sculpted the background for my teaching career with the related knowledge about both language and teaching the language. To add, I have also started the CELTA Course in order to gain the specific professional qualification to employ myself as an educator in further education. Finally, the training and experience counts my capacity and the stage for further learning novice and perpetual experiences in teaching. |
