My name is Rachael and I am a qualified primary teacher with 15 years’ experience. I have a passion for encouraging a love of learning. I believe that if a child enjoys what they are learning then they will be motivated to listen, participate and ultimately achieve. I have a wide variety of experience working with SEND children and I understand that not everyone learns in the same way. Teaching is about adapting your strategies to meet the needs of the individual. As a mum of two children with ASD I fully comprehend the stress and pressures that are put upon parents to engage their children in learning. Therefore, I strive to create an enjoyable learning environment for your child to achieve their full potential and motivate them to want to learn. In addition to my work with SEND children I have a great deal of experience tutoring children in preparation for their exams, whether that is SATs or the 11+. I taught year 5 and 6 for many years and my subject knowledge is very up to date on exam questions and expectations, particularly in maths and science. Whether it is about building up confidence or honing in those exams techniques I would love to help. |
