Hi, I'm Mira and I started tutoring in September of 2022 after achieving 43/45 in the IB Diploma, providing lessons in English Literature/Language and Biology. In my lessons, students can expect to take on a more active role as we will be doing practice questions/papers together, and hopefully by the end of our time tutoring you will be able to confidently answer all sorts of questions with minimal help! My first lesson is completely free and acts as a consultation, in which I will discuss with you (the student, but parents are also welcome!) your strengths and weaknesses in order to create a plan of action, which we will follow in order to build up your strength in your chosen subject. This consultation will allow you to decide whether you are comfortable with my tutoring style and if it is what you are looking for. My lessons are an hour long, but I am comfortable extending them upon request. I use a lot of visual aids and a whiteboard to help students conceptualise difficult aspects of their syllabus, and I apply active recall techniques via my weekly recaps, where at the beginning of each lesson we will quickly recap what we learned the week prior with a short, 5 minute quiz. All my techniques are actual, science-based revision methods that I applied when studying for the IB, which allowed me to achieve four Grade 7s, which is the highest grade available for IB, therefore you can be confident that they are tried and tested with great results!
