A widely-published poet and teacher based in Somerset, Matt runs the annual Somerset Young Poets competition, and is well-known at schools across the county. As a teacher, he has worked with the Poetry Society and the Arvon Foundation, the John Betjeman Prize and the George Orwell Society. His poetry publications include a prize-winning pamphlet, a first collection and a book of translation, while his poetry has appeared in numerous journals. In 2018, he won a Literature Matters award from the Royal Society of Literature. He has an MA (distinction) in Creative and Life Writing. Matt has over fiften years' experience of teaching English, Study Skills, Examination Preparation classes, Creative Writing and English Culture. He has taught all levels and ages, from eight-year-old Japanese students to Parisian lawyers. Teaching has brought him to London, Poland, Tuscany, South Sudan and the Czech Republic. He loves teaching.
