Mark Glentworth Profile I am a composer and musician and at the age of 16 I was one of the youngest students to study percussion at the Royal Northern College of Music. After graduating I started working in London as a Freelance percussionist in all styles of music including regular work with the BBC Symphony Orchestra and the London Sinfonietta. I became the last Solo Percussionist with Sir Peter Maxwell Davis’s contemporary ensemble: The Fires of London. I was commissioned to write music for Sir John Gielgud’s reading of Lear’s Nonsense Poetry. In 1981 I started working with Steven Berkoff (Actor/Director) as composer/performer and collaborated many of his stage, TV and radio productions including: West, Greek, On the Water Front, Berkoff’s Messiah and Richard II. One of my first compositions was a Vibraphone solo called ‘Blues for Gilbert’. I am currently releasing some new recordings and composing an exciting new musical called: Seven and a Half Years.
