I am currently a Head of Drama in a large secondary school and Associate Director with one of the most highly regarded touring theatre companies. My passion for education in the arts and for acting in particular began whilst working with Welfare State International and I have been key in the setting up and running of Theatre education programmes for The English Touring Theatre, The Theatre Museum and Splendid Productions among many others. My performance work includes The National Theatre, widespread touring of the UK and internationally in a range of styles from Shakespeare to Brechtian political theatre to pantomime to large scale musical theatre. My directing work takes in London and Edinburgh small theatres, Splendid Productions touring plays, Oldham Theatre Workshop. I was Education Associate for the English Touring Theatre during Stephen Unwin's period as Artistic Director, creating the acclaimed 'practitioners unplugged' touring programme, described by the Guardian as 'second to none'.
