My name is Gary Hunter and I am a 20 year old History graduate from the University of Liverpool. I have always been a keen historian however I always found it hard to understand what was actually expected of me from History exams and tests, this became a massive problem at GCSE with History being the worst grade that I had achieved. My perserverance for the subject that I loved however lead me to gain a newfound understanding about what the examiners were expecting you to be able to do in a History essay and being able to translate good knowledge of the subject into good essays. This understanding is what lead to me eventually gaining an A in my History A-Level as well as 71/75 in one of the papers, following this I transitioned to doing a BA Honors degree at a Russell Group University in the subject that 3 years prior was my worst GCSE. I have a deep understanding of what a History essay is meant to look like as well as being able to understand where potential pitfall come for those who study hard but seem to not be getting the grades that their hard work deserves. I want to provide help to people that were in my position not knowing how to progress and I feel that I have the skill set to be able to do so. |
