I have experience teaching both online and face to face for GCSE and A level Biology. I like to tailor lessons to the student and their learning needs- I can suggest topics but I am equally happy to be guided by them if there is something they want to cover. I like to involve the student in the learning process. I will start off by asking students to tell me what they know before building on it, this way i can focus more on what the student doesn't already know or understand. I take a patient and understanding approach with students to help them feel relaxed in sessions.
What lessons are like is variable. For topics that may be new for the student, I would spend most of the lesson teaching them the subject matter. For topics that they may know a bit, I can test their understanding or can help with practice questions. If it's closer to exam time, then either going over past papers in the lesson, or if they attempt one in their own time then I can go over anything they didn't understand, or help them revise any subject that they want to at the time. Overall I think this tailored approach helps students feel like their lessons are useful and hopefully they can enjoy them too!
I am a native Japanese speaker and I have lots of experience at teaching all levels of Japnese from beginners up to GCSE level and higher. I am flexible with times and teach both daytime and evening to suit online clients.

This knowledge and understanding can then be built on using exam questions to cement their understanding and hopefully it is then embedded ready for exams. Looking over exam questions is the best form of revision, but it also is a way to show students how similar questions are year and year and hopefully remove some of fear surrounding GCSEs.

I have experience teaching GCSE Science across the EdExcel, AQA, and OCR exam boards, and I also teach A-level Biology with a focus on the AQA specification. In addition, I have worked as an exam marker for AQA Biology and Chemistry, which has given me valuable insight into the specific skills, techniques, and language students need to master in order to achieve full marks in exam questions.
All of my students who have worked with me for five months or more have improved by at least two grades above their starting level. The minimum improvement I’ve seen is a one-grade increase for all students.
