I have more than 11 years experience of tutoring pupils of all ages. I enjoy tutoring and am considered to have a caring approach and I try to make sure that learning takes place in a relaxed but studious situation. When tutoring, I find it very important to allow the student to feel confident in their work using lots of praise. It is important that the student feels they can get something wrong, so long as they try. This helps me to find out any misconceptions they might have, so I can re-teach any topics they may need refreshing. I ensure children are challenged age appropriately, and support learners to gain confidence when they are back in the classroom. I am able to work at home or in the pupil's home (happy to travel up to 5 miles from my home) and am currently available evenings and week-ends.

Every student has different abilities and learns the best in different ways, so my tutoring structure will reflect that. I believe that to unlock a students potential, you must be flexible with the way you teach. I tailor my style to suit the students and parents needs and wishes and give the most effective tutoring possible. If a student or parent comes to me with known weak spots, I can plan lessons around that and introduce questions to test progress. However, if a weak spot is unknown as in a lot of cases, I can be there to support with weekly homework or even fish out those areas to improve on myself with quizzes.
I am big on students having confidence in their ability, so I will make sure they know how they are improving and what exactly they are achieving. Hi I'm Katie! I have recently finished my Bachelor's Degree of French and English literature at Cardiff University and I'm expected to achieve a First or a high 2:1. I am eager to help those who have missed out on their education during these unprecedented times. Due to the current climate, I will only be able to offer online lessons via Skype, Zoom etc. Hopefully, once these restrictions are eased I will be available for face-to-face tutoring. Last year, I moved abroad by myself to Toulouse and Paris which helped me to gain a great understanding of the French culture and language. I studied at a French university and also worked as a teaching assistant for French teenagers at a secondary school for 6 months. I was also babysitting two French girls aged 9-11 helping them with their English and French homework I've volunteered in a primary school for 3 months which was unfortunately cut short due to the pandemic.
