I apply varieties of aspects in my lessons to develop learners’ skills based on their ability and progress. My teaching method follow review of previous topic and link with the current topic and often with real life examples. I emphasise on the non-linguistic representations such as graphs, models or images as visualisation helps in long-term memory compared to the text-heavy materials. I encourage the learners to use varieties of resources to seek information beyond the textbook. Moreover, I address the subject specific mathematics and English needs of learners. I conduct regular progress test and often with self assessment to motivate the students for self-actualisation. As a science teacher, I emphasise on the ‘Generating and Testing Hypotheses’. My Learners are often asked to carry out web search and write an essay on contemporary science topics which helps to grow confidence in academic writing for higher education.

Hello! I am a friendly, fun and dynamic tutor, ensuring that my lessons are bespoke to the needs of your child. All my tutoring is currently one to one, however, I am exploring the group tuition options. I tutor purely online, creating an immersive learning environment for your child to truly thrive. The lesson is run through Zoom to ensure that your child can see me and I can see them throughout the lesson. I use some whiteboard features for explaining concepts and I also use a programme to ensure that a range of interactive activities can be accessed by your child to progress learning. I am able to see everything that your child is doing on the screen, meaning I am able to keep them on track, identify misconceptions and progress their learning as they require it.
I am a fully qualified teacher, with experience in the classroom. Teaching in both Wales and England I am able to teach to both curriculums effectively and efficiently. With an in depth understanding of the requirements of both learning environments. Prior to teaching in a school environment I taught a variety of age ranges within the museum sector, accumulating an additional 4 years teaching experience. Hi I'm Katie! I have recently finished my Bachelor's Degree of French and English literature at Cardiff University and I'm expected to achieve a First or a high 2:1. I am eager to help those who have missed out on their education during these unprecedented times. Due to the current climate, I will only be able to offer online lessons via Skype, Zoom etc. Hopefully, once these restrictions are eased I will be available for face-to-face tutoring. Last year, I moved abroad by myself to Toulouse and Paris which helped me to gain a great understanding of the French culture and language. I studied at a French university and also worked as a teaching assistant for French teenagers at a secondary school for 6 months. I was also babysitting two French girls aged 9-11 helping them with their English and French homework I've volunteered in a primary school for 3 months which was unfortunately cut short due to the pandemic.
