Prior to teaching I have worked in life science Reasearch and Development and in Biopharamceutical research, sales and marketing. I also worked a part-time voluntary teaching assistant in primary and seconday schools for 2 years. In 2014 I decided to change career completely to become a science teacher, so I trained at Kings College, graduating with my PGCE in 2015.
My background prior to teaching brings additional experience and skills to my teaching. Chemistry is my specialist subject. I have taught and tutored all sciences successfully to years 7 to 11, and have taught and tutored Chemistry and Biology at A level.

My name is José María de Lucas Sacristán, though most know me as Chema Sacristán. I've been a professional drummer since 2004. I'd like to share a brief biography of my career in the U.K. In 2002, at 19, I realized my love for music and moved to Bristol, U.K., where I lived for four years. Bristol exposed me to all sorts of music, including rock, jazz, world music, and more. I played my first shows and worked with over five different local bands, gaining valuable experience. In 2006, I moved to London to study at Tech Music Schools, known as "Drum Tech," where I completed my higher education and earned a BMUS in Popular Music Performance (Hons), licensed by West London University. After completing my degree in 2011, I worked exclusively as a performing drummer and drum teacher, giving private lessons in my own studio, Oktopus Music Services, in North West London. In the past nine years, I've had the privilege of performing, recording, and writing with some of the best musicians in the London and U.K. scene, such as Kevin Glasgow (one of Europe's best bassists), Robin Banerjee (Amy Winehouse's guitarist), Roberto Manzin (Zucchero), Felipe Martíns (Emeterians), Juan Whist (The Voice National Spanish TV), and many others. I've showcased in most of London's live music venues and with the best U.K. and European entertainment agencies, such as Scarlett Entertainment, Full Stop Entertainment, and more. I have experience with diplomats and corporate people from the City and with children and adults with special needs, Asperger's and learning difficulties. I did my teacher training in 2001-2002 after 2.5 years of being a French assistant in London schools. I starting private tuition in 1999.

(i) For School UNI students I have a deep understanding of the National Curricula from the different Boards, Aqua, Edexcel, Cambridge, and preparing students for University examinations, including UCL or Oxbridge. My experience gave me the ability to quickly spot the student's strengths and weaknesses. The result is that my students have all gained between B and A or A* or 9, at their A-level or GCSE exams, (I had just one student who was given a B, the others all gain A or A* or 9). However as importantly they are able to enjoy fluent speaking and a full understanding of the Italian Language.
(ii) For Adults and Professional students In tutoring adult and professional students I have developed a method which using authentic teaching material, such as New reading, or listening, songs or moves listening. This has allowed all of them to deal in Italian, to a mother tongue level, such as job interviews or giving presentation, or simply talking with Italians once in Italy
Learning a language is the process of understanding which involves all the fours apprehension skills of listening, writing, speaking, reading which makes the entire process a very effective means to train your brain, but most of all is an entire unique psychological and emotional experience. Be able to speak and understand a different language gives a distinctive touch of pride which raises our confidence allowing us to enjoy our skills
I am a Qualified Physics teacher, currently teaching in a state school. My tutoring approach is flexible moulding my teaching style according to students understanding. I listen to students and encourage them to speak and ask questions. I am fairly traditional in my approach. My previous pupils - I am recently retired - would describe me as thorough, encouraging and able to develop a strong self belief to succeed in a tricky subject.
Teaching Chemistry for 41 years has given me significant insight into the common conceptual pitfalls that hinder learning. So, first and foremost, I aim to develop a sound conceptual understanding and thereby foster tutees' confidence. Grasping Chemistry is like tackling a jig-saw puzzle: The pattern emerges when the links between the individual parts are apparent; I pride myself in enabling tutees to make these connections. Once the subject foundations are secure we move on to questions, examination technique and past papers.

I have had several years experience teaching Classics in the UK and am now completing my MA in Classics alongside my full time work as a Classics teacher in south London. As a key member I have been developing our provision so we now offer A Level Classical Greek for the first time in several years! One of the areas I particularly enjoy working in is successfully supporting young students as they prepare for entrance exams with previous experience in particular for St Pauls Boys and Winchester College. If required, I can also provide lessons, tutoring, or general support in English and History, if needed.
My A Level classes of 2022 all scored highly in their exams - 100% A*s in Latin and 100% A-C in Classical Civiliation.
In 2023, my GCSE and A Level classes continued to excel despite the return to 2019 standards and reduction in exam support from the boards, and I am incredibly proud of them all:

Hi, I am a fully qualified maths teacher with 7 years of experiance with teaching GCSE maths. My teaching style in sessions would be demonstrating how to gain as many marks as possible with effective exam style answers. I have been working with all secondary school years, years 7 to 11, since 2017. I have an abundance of experiance with all abilities and levels in this age range. I have the ability to adapt my lessons for all students that I would tutor. I am highly experienced with GCSE exam preparation for both the higher and foundation papers. I have a bank of past papers that I will share with my students. I will be available for messages throughout the week, so students can message me with questions they may have. I will also tailor each session to the students specific needs and give my professional advice on what topics may need to be worked on. I also have a bank of lessons for me to teach new topics if required.

I am a native Italian teacher with more than 15 years of experience teaching Italian in schools and privately.
I've always loved my language and really enjoy passing this love on to someone else by teaching.
About the lessons
My lessons last 2 hours, normally starting with a conversation (with absolute beginners this time is spent in role playing, games and repetitions), followed by homework correction, grammar studies and listening to pre-recorded Italian conversations.
The lessons are very enjoyable and time goes quickly!
Teaching experience
I am a CLTA (Certificate in Teaching Italian to Adults gained at The International House in Rome) qualified tutor of Italian, with over 15 years` experience teaching Italian to adults of all backgrounds, whether learning individually or as a group. I have therefore developed a good understanding of the problems encountered by students who may be learning a language for the first time, as well as those who may be returning to learning after a long gap, and are therefore not only unused to learning, but may need to somehow fit their studies into the limits imposed by a full time working and family life.
I have also a very good record of achievement for students undertaking GCSE, A Level examinations, MLAT test and University interviews.
Approach to teaching
I use the International House method in written and spoken Italian which involves the use of authentic texts, visual, audio and internet resources, also introducing culture, politics and anything else that is of the student’s interest.
This method enables the learners to speak and improve their skills as quickly as possible. Fluency and vocabulary would expand naturally as the course progresses.
