I have taught at Queen Elizabeth School, Barnet, ranked as the top state school in the country, for the last 4 years including guiding many Oxbridge physics, natural sciences, medicine and engineering candidates. I have a degree in Automotive Engineering and a PhD in Racecar Aerodynamics both from Loughborough University, where I also taught undergraduate modules in Statics & Dynamics, Fluid Dynamics, Low Speed Aerodynamic, Ground Vehicle Aerodynamics and CAD. Prior to completing my PGCE I was a research engineer developing hydrogen fuel cell technology for a range of clean technology applications.
I have recently moved from London to Nottingham with my family and am available for tutoring of Science (KS3) and Physics (GCSE and A Level) online or in person.
I quickly build rapport with pupils and work out gaps in their learning and the best possible way to teach them what they need to know. My pupils range from year 1 pupils who need support with letter formation and phonics to students preparing for their English GCSEs. I love what I do and this motivates my students. They also grow in terms of confidence and independence too!
I work with pupils of all abilities and needs but have particular experience with SEMH children, neurodiverse children and those with literacy difficulties such as dyslexia.

HI, my name is Charlotte but everyone calls me Lottie. I have the ability to communicate with children especially those with learning disabilities as I have learned so much from having them myself. Having Dyslexia, Irlens and Hearing Processing Disorder made school really hard for me so with the right techniques that I honed over the years I was able to go to my dream university to do my dream course, Architecture. Throughout secondary school I tutored at GCSE level in the 3 sciences and the Design Subjects as this is where I thrived. I shared my techniques with all the children and it was wonderful hearing them get amazing results in their exams. I have a lot fo experience working with kids in tutoring. Outside of this I spent the summer working in a camp in America teaching kids all kinds of sports, games and arts. I spent 24/7 for 7 weeks with the same children and watching them develop as people and also learn so much was beautiful. I am reliable and hardworking despite my spelling mistakes. "Stuart manages to bring variety in his approach to classes. Some weeks he positions tables propped upright on their ends and we work in various media on paper the full size of the model. Sometimes we draw a model who moves in various ways in rotation. Our still life evenings are also different, he brings in a pigs head for us to draw, and also a brace of pheasants. Stuart is always very encouraging. He covers all the basics in teaching us how to measure the body by eye, by aligning different parts of the body, and demonstrates different media techniques. "

Since then I have evolved into a cross between a polyglot software engineer, and an IT infrastructure engineer, involved in numerous IT projects up to this moment using modern software engineering design principles, and diverse technologies. As a trained engineer coupled with my ability to relate to people of various socio-cultural backgrounds, I have expertise in training people to become Software Engineers and great computer programmers. My close attention to detail and organizational skills keep me focused on tasks without distractions while managing allocated resources such as time.
