Based in Bromsgrove, Worcestershire, your piano lessons are taught face to face in a purpose built studio. Whatever your starting point, age or preferred style of music I will tailor a course of lessons just for you. We can even learn online together with one-to-one video lessons. Your piano lessons will be relaxed and fun with structured learning at the heart of each and every lesson.
With 22 years experience of being a qualified primary and secondary classroom teacher and offer age appropriate lessons that are always fun and engaging. I can also offer tuition that supports students with special educational needs. There are no barriers to learning music. As well as playing on a modern Kawai upright piano we will have fun learning music theory by playing a range of percussion instruments, synthesisers and musical games.

I am a music graduate from the University of Hong Kong. I currently have a total of 10 years of teaching experience including in the UK.
I've played piano for the last 12 years and I taught piano to several students, listening to their passions and adapting my lessons to the music genres they're more attracted to.
I've played in multiple bands of varying genres and currently play in 4 bands, one is an indie rock focussed band which is the most successful. I also run a post-punk shoegaze band where i write all the songs and lyrics. I play every week at Mr wolfs in the house band of the donut filler house jam and I also run a duet focussed singer songwriter band. I am able to tutor: bass, guitar, keys and vocals.
Offering lessons in person or online, I have been performing professionally for 38 years and teaching for 26 years. I was initially taught piano by my grandfather, the renowned concert pianist and head of piano at RSAMD, Jack Wight www.*** I then completed my studies under Ms Anna Rastopchina. I currently play in an 8-piece function band as well as a jazz ensemble. I am also the musical director for shows held in the Clyde Auditorium and the Dumbarton theatre every spring. I teach piano & keyboard to all ages and stages. Roughly half my students study for the ABRSM piano grades, and so far my pupils (over 200 candidates) have a 100% pass rate. My other students play for enjoyment, learning various styles and technique. I also prepare students for the school curriculum Nat 4/5, Higher Music and Advanced Higher Music. I teach classical piano, jazz, pop, blues, music theory and composition. I tailor all lessons to the individual needs and aspirations of the student, employing various teaching styles. I also teach some pupils to play by ear, as well as improvisational skills, if requested. I prefer to teach from my own house, where I have a beautiful Yamaha U3 piano, as well as a Nord digital 88 piano, Roland Juno DS keybpoard/synthesizer, vintage Hammond organ and Leslie speaker and recording equipment. Lessons are generally an hour long, except for young students, where I would recommend a shorter lesson of 45 or 30 minutes. I offer online lessons via Skype or Zoom which is suitable for some of my students

I have over four years of experience tutoring both online and face-to-face. During this time, I have taught piano to children as young as three and worked intensively on exam preparation, including English tests and the ISEE, often with only three months’ notice. I’ve also helped students exceed their grade level in English writing, reading, and comprehension. Additionally, I have worked with children with autism, ADHD, and anxiety, focusing on building trust and creating a fun, engaging learning environment where we can grow together.

I teach to all ages, up to Grade 8 on the Drums, Grade 4 on the Guitar and on the Piano I will teach to a high standard, but not through the grading system as I only teach basic level sight reading for Piano.
I have taught many students over the years at varying ages and skill levels, and all have come out more passionate and more improved at there instrument.
My students have all mentioned how they find there lessons thoroughly productive and enjoyable, finding themselves increasingly motivated to play after having lessons with me. (see references at the bottom)
In my lessons I will take the students up through the Grades (ONLY for Drums and Guitar), via Rockschool, teaching them everything they need from technique, learning how to sight read, developing improvisation skills, playing in many different genres of music, and how to play by ear. I will also cover how to complement the music you are playing to and how to serve the music. As well as developing musicianship skills and how to have the right attitude in the music business.
- on the Piano I will teach to a high standard, going through everything listed above, as well as scales, arpeggios, inversions, learning classical and contemporary pieces, and basic level sight reading, but NOT grades unfortunately.

Hello! I'm Irene www.*** I'm a graduated Classical Pianist and Spanish Philologist, now studying a Master in University of York and Università di Bologna. I am really passionate about teaching, I've had years of experience in it. I am willing to give either Spanish language lessons (Bachelor certificate in Philology) and prepare exams, as well as Piano and Music Theory for every level. I also prepare ABRSM and other official exams. The lessons will just be ONLINE from the UK, as I moved out.

Mathematics, English, and Science have always been among my favourite subjects, and having recently completed my secondary education, I have a strong grasp of these subjects—particularly Science, which I have taken to an advanced level through my Biomedical Science degree.
I strive to support students by tailoring my teaching approach to suit their individual needs, ensuring a personalised and engaging learning experience. I also encourage student input, making lessons interactive and adaptable to their learning style. My experience in tutoring began during my school years when I led weekly afterschool sessions to assist younger students. I helped them consolidate their learning, refine exam techniques, and focus on past paper practice—prioritising learning from mistakes rather than passive note-taking.
Beyond academic subjects, I have also mentored students in music, having achieved Grade 8 in Piano and Grade 7 in Singing. This has strengthened my ability to communicate effectively with both students and parents, fostering a supportive and structured learning environment.
With three years of tutoring experience, I have taught Maths, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, and English, guiding students from Year 9 to Year 12. My students have gone on to achieve excellent results, with some securing places at Oxbridge for Maths and Physics, for which I also provide interview support. Whether preparing for GCSEs or A-levels, I am dedicated to helping students reach their full potential.
Dominique is a recent Master's graduate from the Royal College of Music and has teaching experience of over five years. In line with her passion for sharing music, she believes that anyone can succeed at learning to play an instrument with the right support and environment. Using some elements of the Suzuki method, such as listening, imitation, and memorisation, and combining these with note-reading, rhythm, and musicianship skills (playing alongside other musicians/recording), Dominique can see her pupils make significant progress in each lesson. Because playing an instrument is physically challenging, it is essential to spend a constant amount of personal time for practice between lessons, which Dominique recognizes from her own experience as demanding. This is why, in each lesson, she discusses and makes a plan with her pupil regarding the practice structure, as well as being available for any questions during the week, on the phone and via email.
