For nearly 10 years, I have been working both as a private tutor and a schoolteacher, teaching predominantly Spanish and English to students of all ages and abilities in person and online. Following a lifelong love of languages, I studied Spanish and English Literature at GCSE, achieving A* and A respectively, and at A-level, achieving B and A* respectively. In 2015, I advanced my studies at the University of Reading, where, in 2019, I obtained my BA in Spanish and English Literature. In my year abroad, I studied in Mexico (University of the Americas Puebla) and Cuba (University of Havana). Since graduating, I’ve taught thousands of hours of Spanish and English online to hundreds of students, reaching the top of the Spanish tutor ranks on another platform and receiving dozens of positive, predominantly five-star reviews from satisfied clients across the continent. Knowing from personal experience how challenging learning a foreign language or mastering the art of essay writing can be, I aim to facilitate the process for my students by personalising my lessons to their individual needs. Personable, passionate and productive, my mission is to help my students not only achieve but exceed their goals.

I am an enthusiastic and dedicated languages teacher looking to help all those requiring language tuition in London and online.
I come from a trilingual family and have spoken Spanish, Portuguese and English since childhood. I studied languages as part of my undergraduate degree at the University of Leeds, obtaining a first class BA in History with Spanish and Portuguese.
After a decade working in law, I returned to my language roots and qualified as a languages teacher in 2018. I taught Spanish for three years to London secondary school students, focusing on GCSE and A Level exam preparation. I also worked additionally as a Portuguese GCSE speaking examiner during exam season, something which I continue to do today. In 2021, I finally decided to focus full-time on my private tutoring career as a Spanish and Portuguese language tutor.
Whether you're looking for formal public exam preparation or a tutor to practise everyday conversational skills with, I'm ready to help. My hour-long lessons are designed to be an open and encouraging space in which students can practise and improve their language skills. I work to ensure that they are fun, interactive and as light-hearted as possible while always focused intently on my students' learning needs. What sets me apart is that I tailor my sessions to each individual student's particular strengths, goals and interests to ensure maximum engagement.
I am passionate about languages and the cultures in which they are spoken. As well as helping you reach the level of proficiency you’re aiming for, I hope that my sessions will inspire you to really fall in love with Spanish and Portuguese and want to use them further in the future!

2025: I offer English (GCSE and IELTS) plus French and Spanish as well as Linguistics (A level course B and University). Latin offered for KS3/Common Entrance. Help with university personal statements and essay writing for university as well as thesis proposals for MA and PHD students.
Excellent references sent to student/family once they have paid the nominal Tutor Hunt fee (paid to company as a one-off). Thereafter, family deals solely with tutor.
Please note: I specialise in one-to-one tuition. If you are looking for a tutor in a class, please state this in the first enquiry.
Vocabulary, grammar and essay techniques in French and Spanish, from KS3 to University level: I am also here to help you get an overall 7 in English for IELTS (both academic and general training, including Life in the UK study), French and Spanish (GCSE and A level), GCSE English Lang and Lit, plus Latin for primary school (secondary school entrance and revision). PLEASE NOTE THAT I DON`T DO SEN. For Linguistics, I base my classes on GB theory and help for Child Language Acquisition and core linguistics (bilingualism, code-switching, speech errors and phonetics and phonology). I tend to tutor long-term students, many of whom continue with their languages to A level or University (excellent students, excellent results). I have been a London tutor since 2005, no student has ever failed (this does not mean they all get As or 9s).
The first lesson IS the interview! Note: all my qualifications are verifiable and can be perused when you hire me for your family. I have been working as a private tutor (one to one) since 2005, registered successfully with established London tutorial agencies (one going back to 1873!). I am a member of the [contact detail removed]. My first and research degrees are in Linguistics with year abroad in France (Aix-en-Provence) as a regular student. I have further qualifications in Computer studies and New Media (in relation to publishing) and a Postgraduate degree from UCL Institute of Education. I have worked as a subject librarian at UCL (Linguistics and Languages) and I am presently a Research Associate at [contact detail removed]. I have taught in Argentina, France, England and Poland, and studied in Germany, France, England and Argentina.
I have an enhanced DBS certificate, which can be checked by agencies online.
My subjects are : Linguistics (including MLAT prep), French, Spanish, Italian and Latin (up to CE) in that order. I offer support for university students (languages and humanities, and social sciences). This range has come from practice, qualifications and research.
For Linguistics and Literature at university level, students average a 2:1, with many papers in the 80% grade. I don’t promise a particular score, but support students through their course. I don’t write their essays for them.
Results for GCSEs : mainly 7-9 (French and Spanish). Results for A levels: A stars, As and Bs. All pupils for Common Entrance (mainly French and Latin) have so far been accepted by the school of their choice. I have also prepared pupils for the school`s own entrance exams (at 13+ and 16+).

As a Spanish tutor, I provided personalized language instruction to students, drawing from my advanced academic background in Spanish, an intensive immersion course in Costa Rica (Intercultura), and my D1 (A** equivalent) Pre-U qualification.
My law degree further strengthened my ability to teach technical and professional Spanish, particularly in legal, business, and formal writing contexts.
I tailored lessons to individual learning styles, incorporating grammar drills, structured conversation practice, and cultural insights to help students build confidence in both spoken and written Spanish. My approach combined immersive methods—such as real-world dialogues and case studies—with a structured curriculum to develop fluency, comprehension, and critical thinking in Spanish.

Hi everyone!
I am a Spanish native speaker from Cadiz, Andalusia, living and teaching in London for more than 5 years now. I started teaching Spanish as a private tutor and, since 2017, I work in a well-known and sucessful independent school in London, NLCS.
My experience in this school as well as my studies at University back me up to guarentee meaningful and well prepared Spanish lessons, focusing on the concrete specification that the student is doing at school, since I am familiar with all of them.
As the situation is not suitable for 1-2-1 lessons in person, I am ofering them online. My IT skills and experience teaching online in the summer term in my school allows me to say that I can offer the same quality of lessons that will help you to achieve your goals.
I look forward to hearing from you.
All best,
Carmen

I grew up in Spain. When I was 16 years old I started private tutoring to children. Then I moved to a school language academy as an English teacher in Spain.
I taught some Spanish online to British people, now I moved to London 2 months ago and I would love to do continue teaching Spanish.
I am very passionate about my language and specially teaching it to people. I also love to deep into Spanish culture in my lessons and teaching some secrets from this beautiful culture.

I have one year of experience helping kids to learn Spanish, but had to change my job and concentrate on other things, now I would like to retake this oportunity to help learning Spanish and more accesible to people who needs it. I prefer working with kids because they are fast learners and a fun group age to teach. As a native spealer I can offer the right pronunciation, correct grammar and conversational skills.

Suzanna is an enthusiastic and creative teacher with a passion for languages and the way in which they can enhance not only a student’s academic potential, but also their quality of life.
She achieved 3 As at A-Level in Spanish, English Literature and Drama and Theatre Studies and then went on to study for a BA in Hispanic Studies at King’s College London. Her time there included a year abroad at UNAM (Universidad Nacional Autonoma de Mexico) where she was able to refine her spoken Spanish skills and gain a wider insight into Latin American culture. After graduating she also spent 3 months in Bolivia teaching Human Rights to children aged 6-16.
Suzanna is a qualified secondary languages teacher with a PGCE from UCL’s Institute of Education and has experience teaching Spanish and French at key stages 3, 4 and 5 in a school environment.

In the year 2008 I completed a Bachelor of Arts Open Degree with Honours with the Open University where I studied two courses of English Literature. I obtained an Upper Second Class grade. I was awarded credits towards this degree for my previous studies in History at the University of Barcelona, Spain. However, I am as yet unqualified to teach in this country.
During 2009 and 2010 I did three hours a week of voluntary work in a local school (Hertswood, Borehamwood) in order to acquire first hand experience of school-classroom teaching. I applied for the GTP in that school but after waiting for more than a year my application was eventually rejected as the number of places for GTP had been drastically reduced. After that I have continued working as a private tutor.
I am a native Spanish with thirteen years of experience as a private Spanish tutor. I am at present teaching a number of private classes for individuals and groups. I also teach groups of children of ages between five and eleven years old in after-school clubs. During the last five years I have been running my own Spanish and Chess afterschool Clubs with up to thirteen members during some periods. I have also been running Spanish conversation sessions in a local school, Immanuel College, for GCSE and A level students from three to four hours a week during the last eleven years.
I put special emphasis on spoken language. I use role play to practise the language, improve pronunciation, and show the usefulness of a foreign language in real life. I also use Spanish traditional songs for children.
