Science Clinic Private Tutors was founded in 2010. Our vision was to help struggling children understand the concepts of the major subjects which are sought after by many colleges & universities. Our tutoring was mainly in the main subjects (Maths, all 3 Sciences & English Language) to exam students only. Because of the huge demand of tutoring in all year groups, we now teach students across the board from Primary (KS1 & KS2) through to GCSE, A-level and University. We were luck to have had colleagues we share the same vision with join us. Now we can teach all subjects from Primary through to GCSE, College /A-levels and Science & Maths at University level. All our teachers / tutors are graduates and qualified teachers with Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) who understand the National Curriculum. Some of them are examiners at GCSE and A-level, which means they know the exam techniques students need to answer the exam questions properly and get better grades. Within the team, we have professionals with very high qualifications ie Masters Degrees (MSc / MA) and PhDs in various subjects. We can, therefore, be confident to say we are professionals who are dedicated to what we do with proven records in the UK’s most entrance and national exams. We are a tutoring organisation that is defined by its professionalism. Our aim is to provide a personal service. This makes us very different from most tutoring companies that just offer a platform for tutors and students to meet. We speak to clients so that we can match them with the most appropriate tutor for their needs. When this happens, the results can be remarkable & confidence grows. We personally know all our tutors and all have had DBS checks and their qualifications checked before we take them on. We are also a member of The Tutors’ Association (TTA) which was formed in 2013 to provide standards to the tutoring industry.

My Psychology degree and 9 years of experience working with children with Neuro-divergence and additional educational needs prior to teaching have significantly shaped my approach to teaching.
I prioritise relationship building and trust with students and their caregivers.
I am patient, kind, and incredibly encouraging but have high expectations. I work with students for them to also gain high expectations in themselves. This may happen in the first few sessions or may take a longer period of time depending on the student.
I help students gain high expectations for themselves by initially giving tasks where they are guaranteed success, then celebrating and reflecting on this success and how they were able to use the skills taught and their effort to complete the task. This builds a persons confidence and significantly increases the likelihood of attempting more difficult tasks. This is heavily proven by research (and seen in my classroom daily) known as the “theory of self efficacy” and the “theory of planned behaviour”.
If a person does not believe a task is within their capability, they are incredibly unlikely to even attempt it (No matter how much we believe they can do it).
It is my job to SHOW students they can do it by designing tasks and lessons in a way that they feel challenged finish with pride in their achievements.
When teaching new skills I will show them first, then we will complete a task together, then they will apply the skills independently. I will be constantly assessing as they work independently and provide support where necessary. The ultimate goal is to phase back my support until they are using the taught skills correctly, consistently, confidently and independently.
Lessons will vary depending on students needs. If caregivers want to spend a percentage of the lesson to discuss, that will be agreed upon. If there are specific targets you want me to cover then we can dedicate time for you to tell me these expectations. If you would prefer me to assess your student and gage where the gaps are and plan accordingly, that is also ok.
I would suggest an initial session to meet, and discuss goals.
Some classes you may benefit from:
-SATs Prep
-Phonics
-Reading (comprehension, vocabulary, inferencing, predictions, explaining, retrieval, sequencing, summarising, making links, authors intent)
-Spelling
-Grammar (or Spelling and grammar combined)
-Maths
-Maths (arithmetic)
-Maths (Reasoning and Problem solving)
-Target specific - has your teacher said there are targets you need to work on in various subjects?
-Science
-History
-Geography
-Psychology (GCSE, A Level)
Is your child in secondary school but needs support in the foundation subjects such as reading, writing or maths?
Reading and writing is an essential skills in secondary school for every subject. I can support your child to close the gap so they can access all subjects with their peers. Having worked in secondary schools before, I have seen how much students are required to read and write in all lessons, but there will not be opportunities to learn these fundamental skills at school.
I welcome students of all ages (including adults) from all backgrounds and of all abilities.
I look forward to meeting you soon and celebrating the amazing progress ahead!

Throughout university I have consistently achieved First Class marks in assignments, with some upper 2:1 level. Due to the ongoing marking boycott, I am yet to receive my final degree classification, however it is confirmed that I have guaranteed an upper 2:1.
At GCSE, I achieved full marks in 4 of the English Literature questions, and was in the highest www.*** of the country for English Literature. The rest of my grades consist of an 8, 4A*s, 2As, 1B.
I was offerd a place to study English Literature and Education Studies at Cambridge University (2020), however due to personal reasons I had to release this offer and defer. I instead studied a year later at Durham University, an extremely selective, world top university with extremely high standard teaching.
I will be commencing my Masters degree in Law at the University of Law next year.
I am dedicated and hard working, and my experience with tutoring, mentoring and as a teaching assistant means I am well experienced in adapting to different learning styles. I understand the importance of patience and adaptability when it comes to working with students of all ages, and I very much look forward to working with tuttees and their parents to ensure you get the most out of these sessions.

Hello! I am a kind and approachable Primary school teacher who loves working with children of all ages. I have worked across the state and private sector, working in OFSTED Outstanding schools. I therefore, have the latest up to date teaching practise at the forefront of my mind and am confident in planning and delivering high quality lessons.
I believe children should enjoy learning to reach their full potential and therefore, I try to capture the interests of children within my teaching to promote a love for learning. I am encouraging in nature and love to make children feel confident and that they can achieve.
I believe in retrieving prior knowledge to recall what children already know and then build on new knowledge through effective teaching strategies. Due to being a teacher who regularly provides 'catch up' sessions, I know how to plug any gaps in knowledge to ensure a child is not falling behind the expected level for their age. I also understand how to effectively challenge children, allowing them to think of more abstract concepts.
I offer online sessions in Phonics, English (Reading and Writing) and Maths, encompassing the whole of the Primary National Curriculum. Lessons with me are fun, engaging and interactive!
