Hello! I'm Louisa, and I have had the privilege of being a dedicated primary teacher for over a decade, with a strong emphasis on Early Years and Key Stage 1 (KS1) education. My journey in education has been marked by my passion for nurturing young minds and helping them build a strong foundation for lifelong learning.
Educational Background and Experience:
I hold a PGCE in Education, which has equipped me with the knowledge and pedagogical skills required for effective teaching in primary education. My extensive teaching experience spans over 10 years, during which I have honed my expertise in early childhood and KS1 education. I have had the opportunity to teach in two outstanding primary schools, where I consistently maintained high standards of education and created a positive learning environment.
Areas of Expertise: I offer specialized tutoring sessions in the following key areas:
Handwriting Improvement: As a primary teacher, I understand the importance of legible and fluent handwriting. I provide comprehensive handwriting sessions to help students develop fine motor skills and improve their penmanship.
Phonics Mastery: Phonics is a crucial skill for early readers. I employ effective phonics techniques to help young learners build strong reading and pronunciation skills, setting them on the path to becoming confident readers.
Reading Enrichment: Reading is the gateway to knowledge and imagination. I tailor reading sessions to meet each student's unique needs, fostering a love for reading and comprehension.
Mathematics Enhancement: Mathematics is a fundamental subject, and I make it engaging and accessible to young learners. I provide personalized math sessions to strengthen foundational math skills and promote mathematical confidence.
My Teaching Approach:
I believe in creating a supportive and nurturing learning environment where each student feels valued and encouraged to reach their full potential. My teaching style is interactive, engaging, and adapted to the individual learning styles of my students. I prioritize building strong communication with both students and parents to ensure progress is monitored and goals are achieved.
Why Choose Me as Your Tutor:
My extensive experience in primary education, especially in Early Years and KS1, gives me a deep understanding of the developmental needs of young learners. I am committed to helping students not only succeed academically but also grow as confident, independent, and motivated learners. My track record of teaching in outstanding primary schools demonstrates my commitment to excellence in education.

Since my both of my daughters were diagnosed with dyslexia, I became aware of the challenges they faced every day in the classroom. This in its self spurred me on to become the year 6 teacher I am today. One who will never give up trying to find new and exciting ways to help children learn. Mainly, my forte it's SATs prep, which I've been doing for 7 years helping children not only pass their exams, but instilling confidence within to flourish for the rest of their educational careers. I also have a specialism in supporting the progress of children who have particular needs. Such experience I feel enables me to teach in a very diverse way, resulting in a bespoke tutoring approach that will inevitably enrich your child's educational career.

Throughout university I have consistently achieved First Class marks in assignments, with some upper 2:1 level. Due to the ongoing marking boycott, I am yet to receive my final degree classification, however it is confirmed that I have guaranteed an upper 2:1.
At GCSE, I achieved full marks in 4 of the English Literature questions, and was in the highest www.*** of the country for English Literature. The rest of my grades consist of an 8, 4A*s, 2As, 1B.
I was offerd a place to study English Literature and Education Studies at Cambridge University (2020), however due to personal reasons I had to release this offer and defer. I instead studied a year later at Durham University, an extremely selective, world top university with extremely high standard teaching.
I will be commencing my Masters degree in Law at the University of Law next year.
I am dedicated and hard working, and my experience with tutoring, mentoring and as a teaching assistant means I am well experienced in adapting to different learning styles. I understand the importance of patience and adaptability when it comes to working with students of all ages, and I very much look forward to working with tuttees and their parents to ensure you get the most out of these sessions.

Our school serves a wide rural catchment area in an environment of outstanding natural beauty, lying within the South Downs National Park. Our outstanding pre-school, `Little Oaks', serves children from two to four years whilst the Primary School serves the older children from four to eleven. We are also an extended school, offering parents the opportunity to drop their children for breakfast at Elm Club at 7:45am and stay to After School Elm Club until 5:30pm. Ofsted rated us a Good School in September 2016 and we are proud of the work we continue to do in striving for excellence. Our biggest achievement in the last year has been to create an outstanding outdoor learning space for our youngest children in Early Years and Key Stage 1.
