I am a third-year student at the University of Nottingham, studying for a Master degree in theoretical physics. I moved to the Uk from Italy to study at University. I've completed my diploma with 100/hon in sciences and I've been a tutor for younger students and peers throughout my studies. I'm very competent in the fields of physics, mathematics, applied mathematics, informatics, and data science. In the past, I also taught philosophy and literature. My knowledge in these fields comes from my studies as well as my passion for the subjects. I have a strong passion for teaching and I plan on pursuing a career in this field after getting my Master. I had the opportunity to experience various methods of teaching and learning and I strongly believe that a good teacher needs to shape a lesson based on the specific student's needs to get the best learning outcome. I also believe that studying is a fun and enjoyable activity and I wish to deliver the passion that drives me to a deeper understanding of what I'm studying to other people as well, to get them to be passionate and enjoy learning.

My work experience is mainly comprised of volunteering work. I dabbled in some social volunteering work during the first year of my undergraduate studies, which provided me with the opportunity to teach Mathematics (for a term of six months), a subject that I absolutely adore, to high school students. I continued this teaching for six months, after which I took on a more challenging task. The NHF (National Hawker's Federation), a charitable organization, that works to assess the welfare and health of hawkers. For the other half of my first year, I joined the NHF and helped them conduct surveys while also communicating with the local government to ensure that the rights of hawkers were upheld and respected.
The remainder of my college years was dedicated to organizing exhibitions, quizzes, and events to promote my subject, Physics, among the youth. I set up fun workshops and exhibitions to demonstrate the laws of physics in an easily digestible manner. Many students from various schools across the city would visit these events and take part in the interactive scientific demonstrations. I am proud to state that these events encouraged a handful of those students to approach me about pursuing a career in physics, and that was the most significant achievement of my undergraduate years.
My social volunteering work gave me valuable interpersonal communication and documentation skills, which are two very useful qualities for a tutor. International students are generally confused and shy, so tutors need to be friendly and approachable to encourage students to ask questions and help them feel comfortable. I believe I have nearly perfected these skills thanks to my experience teaching high school students.
I believe the seminars and exhibitions I've organized have also played a significant role in developing my academic engagement skills. If I could captivate a group of jumpy school students with a model of the Doppler Shift Phenomenon, I suppose I must have my community engagement skills sorted. Organizing these events has also enhanced my management skills, making me a detail-oriented and sometimes annoyingly methodical person.
Although my coding experience is already highlighted in my CV, I would also like to state that I have done multiple projects using python and Java and am currently doing a project on neutrino detection. I have struggled with coding in the past and know how it feels to keep getting error codes and not knowing what is wrong with what you’ve typed. The reason for my struggles was because my foundation for programming was not strong so I can assure CYPHER and coco coders that I will make sure all students under me never feel the need to ask chatgpt to correct their codes.
I believe everyone has the potential to be a STEM genius. It's just about finding the right way to explain things, making it click for each person. And I would enjoy exploring that process while also helping others learn along the way.
I've been through the struggles of figuring out formulas, scratching my head over physics concepts and reading through 100 lines of a code just to realise you missed a semicolon somewhere. I get it, and I want to be that person who turns confusion into clarity. No one should feel like they're swimming in an ocean of numbers alone.
So, in a nutshell, I want to tutor because I've been there, I love the 'aha' moments, and I genuinely want to make studying a high-five, fist-bump, let's-do-this kind of experience for others. I thrive on making a positive impact, which is a skill required yet mostly overlooked in tutors. I would love to engage with younger audiences and help them adjust to their new chapter in acade.

I have been tutoring now for over ten years. Both science and mathematics have always been passions of mine and I have enjoyed sharing this with other students via tutoring and teaching. I have helped many students surpass their own expectations in terms of their grades by building up solid understanding of topics and more importantly confidence in themselves. I have taught classes as well as one to one tutoring and can provide references if requested.
I am highly qualified after having finished top of my cohort in Theoretical Physics at the University of Birmingham before obtaining a masters degree from the University of Nottingham. Since then I have started at PhD at Royal Holloway university and along the way I have had placements at world famous Physics institutes such as CERN and Fermilab.
If you are looking to build confidence and boost your grades give me a message!

I am an experienced and passionate teacher and tutor for 9 years. I really enjoy sharing my knowledge and experience! I use different techniques and strategies to keep students engaged and maximize the progress of learning at their own paces. I motivate students to surpass their potentials. I offer tailored teaching as I know each student is different. I visualize the problems and use analogies to make them easier for students to understand. I have wide horizons, I was studying also materials engineering and linguistics and I'm fascinated about technology&programming&sciences and history&culture&geography. I graduated from Molecular Biophysics (Bachelor) and now I am studying Bioinformatics and Biology of the Systems (Masters).
A positive atmosphere in classes is very important for me.
I hope to meet you in the class/session!
