I am a qualified teacher based in Oxford with a first class master's in physics from Cambridge University and a PGCE from Oxford University. I have eight years of experience as a teacher and I am enhanced DBS checked. I am currently offering a free taster lesson for students in the UK.
Combining a deep understanding of my subject with a wealth of teaching experience, I love helping students understand their subject, succeed in it, and enjoy it - not only excelling in exams, but mastering and enjoying the subject as well. By developing a thorough understanding of their subject as well as familiarity with exam questions and exam technique, I aim to help students grasp their subject in a way that makes sense to them, enabling both enjoyment and success in their studies.
I offer bespoke online physics, maths, further maths, and chemistry tuition tailored to the needs of my students. I can do A-level, GCSE, and KS3, and I am also able to offer training for the maths and physics olympiads. Typical lessons involve a mixture of exam questions coaching combined with interactive teaching on areas students find difficult, however I am happy to adjust my approach to students’ needs.
I hold a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of Oxford. My teaching repertoire includes GCSE Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Maths, and all subjects related to Physics, Mathematics and Electrical Engineering.

I have been tutoring maths, physics & chemistry GCSE/ A-Level and adult learners, for over 8 years, and have helped many students improve their exam results.
I have written over 20 books too (available on kindle or in paperback), mostly maths books.
I usually visit students in their homes, but also do lessons via Whatsapp (which works great as we can have phone and laptop open at the same time and send documents). During the Corona-virus shutdown, all lessons will be done via Whatsapp with payment via bank transfer please.

I have just started my 17th year of teaching at a Grammer School in Amersham, I also worked at an inner London comprehensive for 10 years previously. I am friendly and approachable, motivated in aiding students to reach their full potential and succeed. Having achieved all A*s at GCSE and A*-A grades in my A-levels from the Henrietta Barnett school, I have a good understanding of the specific exam techniques required to achieve the best grades!
My aim as a tutor is to help students have a good understanding of the topics, by identifying the areas they need more support with. I will begin by teaching the core concepts to ensure that each student has a good foundation, to then build upon the more complex topics. My main teaching style is through using active recall methods such as flashcards, quizzes, and diagrams to help explain concepts to students. I will also provide practice questions for the students to consolidate their knowledge after each session, and ensure they have understood the topic well.
Each session will be specifically tailored to each student and their exam board. I have had 3 years of tutoring experience and am also able to provide tips on revision methods and strategies to help with the student`s own self-study outside of tutoring sessions.

As an older graduate entering the teaching profession, my recent international teaching and work experience resulted in a “eureka” moment for me. Not only have I enjoyed teaching and working with children, but I have really felt a sense of importance with the improvements and progress I have been involved in. My experience teaching in schools highlighted the lack of opportunities in life that still arise from poor education and developed a sense of advocacy in me, where my experience, personality, and drive would really make a difference in the classroom.
I have gained valuable teaching experience in both selective and non-selective schools; taught in multicultural schools as well as schools where the mother tongue was not English. I have developed excellent inter- personal and communication skills in dealing with all stakeholders within a school community; proven to be innovative where necessary in problem solving, as well as having good teamwork skills. One of my greatest attributes is in communicating with parents and being able to utilize my background, experience, and contacts within the university sector to plan a progress career path for students.
As a teacher, I use my experience, practical knowledge and leadership skills gained in industry to enable me to spearhead educational improvement through being an inspirational role model for students as well as shaping their attitudes to learning at key stages 3/4/5.
